DBacks new skin

I'm trying to find a better picture, but have come up empty so far. The Diamondbacks are shedding the purple and teal colors they were born with in favor of Sedona-inspired[url=http://www.azcentral.com/sports/diamondbacks/articles/0902dbacks-uniform0902-CP.html] "brick red and tan"[/url]. They're keeping the "A", but going with a new logo and script for the uni front and a new ugly-ass "db" logo for the sleeve. Ack.

I kinda thought those Southwesty folk-arty desert colors were at least appropriate for a team in Phoenix, even if they weren't atttractive. Can't say the new look is too bad though. The db logo appears to mimic a snakehead; I don't mind it too much. What I'm not in favor of is the DBACKS jersey logo. If you're gonna choose a stupid long team name you have to deal with the inconvenience of spelling it out on the uni. Reportedly, the contest they had to name the team was a scam all the way: Jerry Colangelo liked "Diamondbacks" even though the fans were in favor of Rattlers.

Is it just me, or do those DBacks back of the shirt logos look like the sign for a family-style Southwestern restaurant chain?

I kinda like the "db" snakehead. And I agree on the apostrophe; that just looks stupid.

The Mets aren't the Metropolitans; just the Mets, and precisely for reasons of convenience (specifically, they were thinking of tabloid headlines).

Just when teams were starting to pull back on the black, the DBags go and add black to uniform color scheme. Mets is a clean abbreviation for Metropolitans. Using a hyphen is dumb. I like the DB hat logo. Don't like the Arizona script. The DB hata logo should never be worn with the old Block A on the uni, not a font match.

I think the db snakehead is clever. Reminds me of the Brewers' old mb ball-and-glove logo, which I liked but has had mixed reviews here at the CPF. I also don't like the idea of the uniform reading D-Backs. If the name is too long, don't use it at all. You don't have to spell out the team name on the home uniforms; the Yankees and Tigers don't.

The lettering is awful - it harkens back to the softball uniform days of MLB. However, when it comes to the db on the sleeve, I agree with Yancy - the snake head is clever.

The new color scheme doesn't bother me. The db snake head sleeve logo is creative. But D-Backs on the jersey? Please. That's just stupid. Spell out the whole thing or just stick with Arizona.

i like the D-Back logo... because it indicates which is dee back of dee jersey and differentiates it from dee front.

"Mets," if you were going on the Metropolitans thought track, is like "Jays" or "Sox" "D-Backs" is like saying "B-Jays" or "W-Sox" on your uniform. I don't like it.

Black is fine as a team color..it's when it's described as an "element" that "sells merchandise" that aggravates me to the core. Ditch The Black!!!
