DBacks new skin
A Boy Named Seo Oct 24 2006 12:01 AM |
I'm trying to find a better picture, but have come up empty so far. The Diamondbacks are shedding the purple and teal colors they were born with in favor of Sedona-inspired "brick red and tan". They're keeping the "A", but going with a new logo and script for the uni front and a new ugly-ass "db" logo for the sleeve. Ack.

I kinda thought those Southwesty folk-arty desert colors were at least appropriate for a team in Phoenix, even if they weren't atttractive. Can't say the new look is too bad though.

Is it just me, or do those DBacks back of the shirt logos look like the sign for a family-style Southwestern restaurant chain?

I kinda like the "db" snakehead. And I agree on the apostrophe; that just looks stupid.

"Metropolitans" on the home unis next year? i like the new color scheme beter than the old one, purple is an awful color.

The Mets aren't the Metropolitans; just the Mets, and precisely for reasons of convenience (specifically, they were thinking of tabloid headlines).

Just when teams were starting to pull back on the black, the DBags go and add black to uniform color scheme.

It's all about Pica size. Pica size makes history.

I think the db snakehead is clever. Reminds me of the Brewers' old mb ball-and-glove logo, which I liked but has had mixed reviews here at the CPF.

The lettering is awful - it harkens back to the softball uniform days of MLB. However, when it comes to the db on the sleeve, I agree with Yancy - the snake head is clever.

Slogan: Its snake. But it tastes like chicken. Later

The new color scheme doesn't bother me. The db snake head sleeve logo is creative. But D-Backs on the jersey? Please. That's just stupid. Spell out the whole thing or just stick with Arizona.

I'm glad my team doesn't keep changing colors

To borrow from the slogan of another fast food chain, "I'm loving it."

i like the D-Back logo... because it indicates which is dee back of dee jersey and differentiates it from dee front.

"Mets," if you were going on the Metropolitans thought track, is like "Jays" or "Sox"
|
Nymr83 Oct 24 2006 01:32 PM |
B-Jays would be an awesome uniform, though a tad inappropriate
|
Farmer Ted Oct 24 2006 01:33 PM |
I wouldn't want B-Jays on the front of anything I was wearing.
|
seawolf17 Oct 24 2006 02:27 PM |
|
But if they put D-Backs on dee front, isn't that confusing to players who don't speak English?
|
Elster88 Oct 24 2006 10:27 PM |
Dammit, no throwing of softballs like B-Jays during office hours.

Black is fine as a team color..it's when it's described as an "element" that "sells merchandise" that aggravates me to the core. Ditch The Black!!!
