Under The Knife

From the NYDN. I knew about Woodward, Dook, and Cliff. Had no clue about the seriousness of Delgado or that Heilman and Hernandez were knife-worthy. Tell those guys to stop playing tennis.

Carlos Delgado, who had been nursing elbow discomfort since spring training, had the first of two surgical procedures yesterday. The Mets said Delgado had surgery for carpal tunnel of the right wrist, and will have surgery Monday for what the team labeled right tennis elbow. Paul Lo Duca (ligament tear, left thumb) and Aaron Heilman (tennis elbow) also underwent surgery yesterday.
Among pending free agents, Chris Woodward (labrum tear, left shoulder) had surgery yesterday, while Cliff Floyd will have an operation tomorrow on his left Achilles tendon and Roberto Hernandez will undergo right knee surgery in Florida the same day.

Also in that Willie article.

If this is the "owie" thread, the Snooze relates that Phil Humber left a game in AFL with a bad shoulder.

Saying that a player had surgery for "tennis elbow" isn't very descriptive.

I've recently come to the conclusion that one of the worst kinds of "owies" is when your Game 1 NLDS pitcher pulls a muscle the day before the playoffs start.

Yeah, but it's cool. He said he'd be ready for the World Series and he was.

Delgado has carpal tunnel syndrome?
I wonder which websites he post on.
