Help Out Another Board in Need

The Sons of Sam Horn are running an event to raise money to upgrade their hardware. But they have run events to raise money for charity in the past - $100,000 over the past three years. This sounds like fun. Later ] We're trying to raise some money at SoSH by having a no limit hold'em tourney at Absolute Poker on October 29th, 7pm et. Gabe Kapler confirmed that he'll be in the tourney ($50 bounty on him) and Schilling looks like about 75% right now. Totally free to enter. There is $500 guaranteed already, and the pot grows by $2 for every person that enters. Again -- its totally free, so even if you suck at poker you won't lose a dime by taking a stab at finishing in the money. We're also going to have bounties on certain players, so there's more opportunity to win some cash. So, if you're available that evening then please try it out. I "got in line" for an account when ezboard forced them to relocate, but once I got my identity set up (god knows why, I wouldn't post there anyway) and tried to set up a profile, I found that I would have to wait until a "spot" opened. I checked every week or so for months but never got anywhere so I gave up and haven't even visited there for probably a year. The ones who paid got instant results.

Cooby, I relayed about whether you have to join the SOSH or pay anything to participate and this is the response I got: ]Absolutely not -- this is 100% free to anyone and everyone... tell them to tell their neighbors, co-workers, family, friends, et al. There is no gimmick. Completely free. But, if you decide to enter their poker tourney, as Iubitul said, come back here soon. Don't dawdle over there with those "English". If you live near Pennsylvania Dutch country, you know what I mean. Later

Don't worry, I'm no poker playin' mama, and if I were, I wouldn't do it to raise money for some exclusive board. Now if KC were to do something similar.... (Yes, I do know what you mean by "English"! I live in Pennsylvania Dutch country)

Narrowly escaped praising them wrongly. I went over and logged in, found I could now access my account, was all set to do a test post, and voila! I wasn't authorized to post in that thread. It was a general thread about nothing, btw, nothing mind blowing. Guess things haven't changed, I'll pass on their fundraiser, thanks.
