They are even invading my dreams...

Iubitul

I've been in denial. So what if they didn't make the world series I kept telling myself. They had a great year - they exceeded everything I thought they would do at the beginning of the year, yyybbb.

Yeah, right.

I had a strange dream last night. I fell asleep on the couch, and dreamt that I was watching TV on said couch... On the TV was the beginning of a World Series game - The Mets were playing the Tigers, but I knew it was November 3, so the World Series shouldn't be on... I asked out loud if it was a dream, and the announcer poked his head through the TV, his face got really ugly, and yelled, "IT IS!", and I woke up with a chill...

A big part of interpereting dreams has to do with the emotions you feel when experiencing the dream.

Sounds to me like you went from happy (Mets in the Series) to disbelief ('Wait, it can't be the World Series') to fright (scary announcer face yelling at you).

So I conclude that there is something in your life that you want to happen but doubt it will, and maybe if it did it might scare you a bit.

How close am I?

Holy crap.

If you were any closer, we would be wearing the same shoes.

I had a dream about a week ago. I drove to Las Vegas to see the Mets play the Giants, and ended up meeting a bunch of you guys there at the game.

I dreamt I was going to head up to Detroit for a game and I was trying to log on here to post that I was going up.

Then I woke up...

I dream about this place a lot. And Yancy's secret comics forum.

If I ever started dreaming about the CPF, I would know that it was probably time for me to take a little break from the place. Unfortunately, I seldom have dreams. Or if I do, I seldom remember that they occurred. So, unfortunately, I guess you are all stuck with me.

Actually my dream was probably an extention of my need to tell as many people as possible that I am going on a trip.

What it is I don't know, certaintly not bragging (even if it's a World Series game, why would you venture to Detroit in October, if you live in NY of course) One of those quirky things I do I guess, ala bring library books on the trip rather than stuff I own...

I may need help....

Last night I dreamed about my closet door, which kept opening on its own, Edgy, and a cat. Edgy wasn't present in the dream, I was just thinking about him.
If anyone can figure that one out, let me know.

I dreamed last night that one of my friends would be in a class with me next semester. I was happy that I'd have someone friendly with whom to slog through the tech class.

Of course, she's in a different cohort, so I'm going to be alone with the tech geeks in the class. But it was a nice dream while it lasted.

I guess this means that school is preoccupying me more than this place at the moment.

soupcan
Nov 06 2006 07:44 AM

Again, the interperatation is more about the emotions you experience during the dream than the actual symbolism.

Think about how you felt during the dream.

When the closet door was opening and closing were you scared, apprehensive, excited? Were you happy to see the cat? Comforted? Uncomfortable?

Was Edgy coming out of the closet? Because well, that's pretty obvious...

No no no! The closet door was haunted!

The cat (and it wasn't mine) was in bed with me. And that can never be because I am allergic.

Edgy was only on my mind.

Emotions, baby, emotions. Break it down - what were you feeling during each part of the dream?

cooby
Nov 06 2006 08:28 AM

Closet door--scared! After all, the closet door was moving on its own. And sometimes it opened from the wrong side, a sure satanic symbol!

Cat--Warm. After all, a cat was in bed with me.

Edgy--I think I was just wondering where he was, but I wasn't particularly concerned. That is perhaps the most telling part of the dream.

(Future involvement with Edgy, but he frequently steps out and I don't really care except on nights the closet door acts up??)

Dime store analysis -

When you are scared, unsure and sometimes confused (closet door opening, closing, the right way, the wrong way) about life in general you always know that you have your cyber friends at the Cranepool (Edgy) to keep you company (the cat). The 'Pool (cat) is a constant comfort for you.

OE: Maybe being allergic to the cat is that while it comforts you, perhaps it shouldn't be the only thing that does.

How's that?

Doesn't seem to be anything too complicated. Being with your friends makes you happy.

The fun of the interpretation thing is when you've got several different things happening evoking different emotions and where each one fits in. You just play with the stuff until you think you've got what seems like a logical conclusion.

I'm no expert by any means I just like trying to figure it out.

Dr. Soupcan, please report to the mental ward, stat!

I dreamt that I was at a friend/co-worker's house, and I was working on her computer - she was sitting next to me, and her husband was sitting behind us. He started yelling at her, and I stood up and started twisting his arm, I could even hear the bones break, demanding he apologize.... He wouldn't - I started yelling at him, saying that I'm Italian, too, which means I never forget....

I need more info -

-Were you happy to be at your co-worker's house and working on her computer? Annoyed? Etc.

-Do you know her husband? Do you like him? Do you like her and think he's not good enough for her or vice versa? Any feelings as they relate to those two?

-In the dream were you happy? Angry? Glad you were hurting him? Mad that you had to?

Okay here's what I got -

Sometimes dreams are pretty obvious and this seems to be one of them. You've been thinking about your co-worker's computer problems and been discussing them with her so its been on your mind.

You like your co-worker and were helping her with a problem on her computer. When you think of her you also think about her dickhead, husband. To have the two of them in the same place while you're helping her with her computer issues, your subconscious put you at her house. I suppose that makes more sense than having him at the office?

Because you think he's a dickhead you imagine him treating her poorly, whether he does or not.

Because you don't especially like him you would have no problem hurting him if he threatened someone that you do like.

I'll guess that the 'Italian and I never forget' comment relates to the first time you met him when he made the Met fan crack.

When he said it he didn't really think much of it, maybe he thought he was being funny, but it sure as hell pissed you off didn't it? And guess what? You haven't forgotten it.

How's that?

SteveJRogers
Nov 15 2006 05:06 PM

Uh Soupcan, I think I made need your analysis, see my dream from the front page, I had a like dream last night.

Basically I'm in my old college town (Fairfield, CT) for some reason, and I had a guy cousin of mine with me and I go out bar hopping without him, so then I get a phone call from a high school friend who says he and a whole bunch of my old friends from HS (Scarsdale, NY) are up in Buffalo, NY (I really have no bloody clue how Buffalo got in there) and I'm trying to A) call my cousin to say we are going to Buffalo (I must say I've kept in better touch with a couple of my HS friends, more than my college ones) and B) try to get a cab to take me either to the hotel that me and my cousin are at or Buffalo, and actually I flagged a cab, the cabbie asked if I was a student, and the guy laughed at me when I said I was an alumni.

And thats when I woke up, basically trying to tell someone that we are going somewhere.

Whats more confounding, in RL yesterday I tried unethically to get out of going out of an all expenses paid Caribbiean trip thats booked in January, and now I'm pretty much forced into going (long story short, I was having a period of self loathing and I felt I was "unworthy" of the privleage of going with the company on this trip)

Anyone know of good shrinks in the Southern Westchester area?

I had a dream last night that involved a cherry-flavored lollipop. (That HAS to be sexual, doesn't it?)

In the dream I had a handful of these lollipops, and I offered one to a woman (a real-life person who I actually know) and she politely turned me down.

I don't usually have dreams that are so blatantly easy to interpret.
