Almost well researched, cleverly titled, pretty unfair blog with a polarizing position:

In short, a blog!

how do you NOT lead with steve howe?

also, i'm so curious how that 26.7% figure compares to other teams. i'm guessing that its not really all that much worse than anybody else. especially since at least three of those players have ties to the mets, and i really wasn't paying all that much attention to the list!

i'd harp about ill-applied statistics, but i don't really think i need to in this instance.

Claude L. Washington, too.

The real question, from a statistician's point of view, is how that 26.7 % stacks up against any other randomly generated list of ballplayers. If you looked at all the players in the majors leagues in the last 20 years whose middle initials were "L", would 26.7% of them have played for the Yankees at some point in their career? I suspect so.

probably. well, maybe 26.7 is a high percentage. of course, part of that could be attributed to taking in reclamation projects than fostering a drug culture, but where's the fun in that assumption?

i should look into that middle name thing...
