seawolf17
Nov 03 2006 09:43 AM

I got 12 also: 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, and 20.

Yancy Street Gang
Nov 03 2006 09:45 AM

I only got 3. (Numbers 4, 7, and 20)

Willets Point
Nov 03 2006 09:49 AM

Currently stumped by the five staple removers in formation and the one where it looks like a garment bag has a crumpled piece of paper in front of it.

Willets Point
Nov 03 2006 09:53 AM

OK...got 'em. 20 for 20.

Nov 03 2006 09:56 AM

I only got 4. I suck at stationery movie quizzes.

I'll have to do this at home...

It sounds intriguing though. Staple removers?

Nope, I really got all the answers. Check your pm mailbox.

You're good, I hat you.

The ones I missed -

1 - DUH!

2 - Never saw it, never wanted to, don't want to now.

7 -Never heard of this movie.

8 - BIG fan! Should've gotten that. That's probably the most clever.

11 - is not a good clue.

12 - Have no memory of that scene.

13 - Not a huge fan of but I still should've gotten that. Another 'Duh'.

I got 12 out of 20.

Missed 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 14

OE: I figured out #11. So I've got 13 right.

seawolf17
Nov 03 2006 12:07 PM

Some of them really are "DUH" once you know the answer. #1 hit me that way too.

TransMonk
Nov 03 2006 12:31 PM

After many tries, I got them all. 2 and 17 were the toughest for me. Also tried a few on 19 before I got it right.

seawolf17
Nov 03 2006 12:37 PM

Just figured out #11. (Another duh.)

Willets Point
Nov 03 2006 01:10 PM

17 was hard because I was certain it was clothing on a hanger, thus my first guess was Brokeback Mountain.

8 is obviously a monster movie but it took me a long time to figure out what obscure movie it is.

seawolf17
Nov 03 2006 01:24 PM

Aha! Thanks for the tip, Yancy. I'm up to 14. If the pictures were bigger, this would be easier.

cooby

I peeked at this at lunchtime at home--do you have to type in the answers? No choices?

Yancy Street Gang
Nov 03 2006 02:12 PM

I'm satisfied with my 3. I don't think I'll be taking the test again.

I hear the colleges don't really look at the results from this test anyway.

Is #19 a James Bond movie?

Nymr83

i got #19 just because someone here said it was a Bond movie and i just started entering titles, but i'm not sure how the heck the answer makes any sense, anyone care to PM me an explanation or put it here really small like this so those who dont want hints dont see it

makes sense now
more hidden text for lubitul:
] thats funny because the first thing i thought of when i saw #19 was the movie "Jaws." the only think i remember about the character Jaws from the Bond movie is that he was available in the multiplayer portion of the Goldeneye video game for N64 and was too damn short to shoot with changing your gun angle

Nymr83
Nov 03 2006 08:53 PM

its ok to post WRONG answers right? if not someone let me know and i'll edit...

i thought #16 was "Ocean's Eleven" because it looked like some sort of nautical instrument (and is pointing to the number 11)

cooby
Nov 03 2006 08:53 PM

Highlight what text?

I knew what James Bond movie it was, I just couldn't remember which one it was.

#12, #12....what kind of movie would Nymr like? Hmmmm

Iubitul
Nov 03 2006 08:54 PM

more for 83:

]Both The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker work

cooby
Nov 03 2006 08:58 PM

Stop it you two!

#2 is making me mad because it seems like it should be a certain movie but they just won't accept it

Edit: Okay, this time it worked. Go figure

yeah i just went back and tried that myself when i remembered that one

]#12, #12....what kind of movie would Nymr like? Hmmmm

i don't think its much of a spoiler to tell everyone that the sickle and hammer on the roll of tape represents the Soviet Union....so think of movies with russians in it...you may also want to not think about the roll of tape as a rol of tape but what else it could look like against that background

cooby
Nov 03 2006 09:05 PM

!!!!

I'm going to start swearing soon, because I tried that title before too, and it didn't work and now it does. GRRRR!

Nymr83
Nov 03 2006 09:09 PM

Cooby:
]you may have left out "The" in the title, i did that on a different one

i still cant figure out #2, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18

#4 made me hit myself in the head when i realized i should have know it right away.

cooby
Nov 03 2006 09:35 PM

Yes, #4 is what I meant when I said #2 above. I still don't have #2.

(and your clue is probably right about what I was doing wrong)

seawolf17
Nov 04 2006 07:55 PM

My wife got #2 no problem. She didn't even blink. The contents of the notes are the key, she says.

We're still stuck on 9 and 14.

seawolf17
Nov 04 2006 08:12 PM

Never doubt a librarian's ability to figure this stuff out. #9 is really good; very creative.

I finally got all of them - #9 confused me.

I'm good at figuring stuff out, but this nonverbal stuff is rough for me. I'm only up to 10 correct :(

I would welcome hints for 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 12, 14, 16 and 17

Nymr83
Nov 06 2006 07:53 AM

i have everything but goddamn #2 now, i'll drop some hints after school i really gotta run...

ScarletKnight41
Nov 06 2006 09:16 AM

I actually got some help, so I'll be able to concentrate on my schoolwork today. But thanks.

On the subject of hints - has enough time passed that people won't mind us posting them here? It could be fun trying to come up with interesting clues for some of these films.

cooby
Nov 06 2006 09:19 AM

I'll take your hints NYmr, the bridge one has me especially baffled...

HahnSolo
Nov 06 2006 01:48 PM

Hints on 5, 8, 10, & 14 would be appreciated. They're the only ones I haven't got yet.

ScarletKnight41
Nov 06 2006 02:35 PM

10 is the only one of those that I got on my own.

What is the guy doing?

HahnSolo
Nov 06 2006 02:49 PM

I got it. Seeing him from behind threw me off.

ScarletKnight41
Nov 06 2006 02:55 PM

soupcan
Nov 06 2006 02:55 PM

HINTS:

1 - it's not a meat cleaver or a knife. Think of something exiting the body not entering.

2 - Chick flick. An English chick.

3 - If you need a hint for this, you're in trouble.

4 - What's the Post-It note say? What is it stuck to? Got it?

5 - One of a series of very popular adventure movies starring a guy that was also in the original Star Wars trilogy.

6 -"This was no boating accident!"

7 - "Follow the yellow Post -It notes..."

8 - What kind of fish would those staple removers mostly resemble?

9 - The opening scene to this very violent movie revolved around a discussion of a Madonna song. The colors of the highlighters are a big hint.

10 - What does it look like the guy is doing on those colored papers? The sequel to this movie had Sylvester Stallone in maybe a 3 second non-speaking role.

11 - Tippi Hedren starred in this one.

12 - Alec Baldwin in a role played in later movies by Harrison Ford

13 - Stephen King wrote the book

14 - "Sarah Connor?"

15 - Keyser Soze

16 - How many amplifiers have a volume higher than 10?

17 - Disaster movie with a love story mixed in. Or vice-versa.

18 - The pink paper represents rose petals engulfing the body.

19 - Can you think of any movie roles that Lurch from The Addams Family had?

20 - "I am your father..."

HahnSolo
Nov 06 2006 03:04 PM

Now I have them all, and the last fourI got I would not have gotten without those hints.

#5 don't remember the scene
#8 never heard of the movie
#14 never saw it

soupcan
Nov 06 2006 03:20 PM

I never heard of #8 either. Willets told me that.

Nymr83
Nov 07 2006 11:40 PM

i have them all except #2, i'm convinced i'll have never heard of it when you tell it to me.

soupcan
Nov 08 2006 09:25 AM

Female star of #2 has the initials R.Z.

cooby
Nov 11 2006 11:31 PM

I still don't have 9 or 16

seawolf17
Nov 12 2006 07:29 AM

9 is a Tarantino film that if you haven't seen, you'll never guess.

16 is the funniest movie of all time -- it's a movie about a band.
