2 magicians in a life-long struggle to the death, with Hugh Jackman (wolverine) and Christian Bale (batman).

I saw the two plot twists revealed at the end a mile off, which made it less than satisfyingly compelling and dramatic tale. Still, it was a well-acted and beautifully shot movie, and relatively engaging. If you don't see it coming, i reckon its even better than that.

Saw it last night. I'm denser than Vic, I guess, 'cause I didn't see the twists coming. Plus I was tired last night.

I would've gone 3.5 stars but since it was more 3.51 than 3.49 I rounded up.

I saw The Illusionist a couple of nights before to complete the '06 magician movies. I liked that one better until its really unsatisfying conclusion which moved The Prestige into the lead as the best magician movie of 2006.

See, we've got to go with ten gradations.

The plot twists were pretty easy to spot (and, really, the fact that Robert Angier didn't catch on is fairly unbelievable -- the key bit of information is something he should have learned when he first worked with Borden), but overall it was a good movie -- the twists were just good enough.

I just rented it recently and loved it! I didn't see the last twist at the end coming...though I guess I should have since there was a passing mention earlier in the movie. Plus when the showed the flashbacks, the hand bit made more sense.

I gave it a higher rating than the rest of you due to the eye candy factor via Hugh Jackman. :)
