Who Said It? NY Times Quiz

From the NY Times -- answers tomorrow.

The game is to identify the source of each quote from last week’s news cycle, when it was uttered and some sense of the context.

Here are the quotes:

1. The nature of the threat initially was extortion -- but then we believe on a controlled telephone call that there was a threat made of killing the victim and her son.

2. I will be delivering my plans after a long deliberation, after steady deliberation. I'm not going to be rushed into making a difficult decision. A necessary decision.

3. If you're lucky enough to survive malaria, meningities, exposure, starvation, rape and murder -- and uyou walk 500 miles throught he desert to a refugee camp -- at the very least, when you get there, you should be protected from rebel attacks.

I'm figuring the first one is about the Yoko Ono extortion/death threat, that the speaker was the lead FBI agent on the case, though I have no idea of his name.

The second one sounds like George Bush -- and would this be his new secret plan fot ending the war?

The third one...Darfur? But I don't know who said it.

The second one does sound like Bush. I wonder though if it's a trick question and somebody else may have said it.

Second one might be Rumsfeld, at his going-away party?
