===========================================
THROW MORE INNINGS (a CPF song parody
about Paul Wilson to the tune of Gimme Shelter)
===========================================

Oh, a tall young righty
One o' Generation K
If we don't get some pitching
Oh yeah, we're gonna lose today

Paul, Wilson, it's Generation K
He's gonna pitch today
Paul, Wilson, it's Generation K
He's just a pitch away

Ooh, see the guys a sweepin'
Our very team today
Burns on that hot turf carpet
Green bull lost his way

Paul, Wilson, it's Generation K
He's gonna pitch today
Paul, Wilson, it's Generation K
He's just a pitch away

Pulse, brother!
He's gonna pitch today
He's just a pitch away

Izz, brother!
He's gonna pitch today
He's just a pitch away

Paul, Wilson
He's gonna pitch today
He's just a pitch away yeah yay

Oh, D. Green is threat'nin'
Their very lives today
Throw more, throw more innings
Oh they're gonna fade away

Paul, Wilson, it's Generation K
He's gonna pitch today
He's just a pitch away
He's gonna pitch today
He's just a pitch away
I tell you gone, Dallas, he's gone and pissed away
He's gone and pissed away
He's gone and pissed away
He's gone and pissed away
He's gone and pissed away
Pissed away, pissed away

I seriously dislike U2, but hey...

Twenty-Seven in a Row: A Song About Anthony Young
A parody of "Vertigo"

¡Unos, dos, tres, veintisiete!

Get on the hill, Anthony!

Door opens
The pen
Taking the round dirt mound
To pitch again
Now loaded with two out in
Inning Ten
Just get the out
Could stop this streak
Ball to Hansen
Then two, three, and four

Oh no, oh no!
¡Ele!
That's twenty-seven in a row
¡Un perdedor!
I never met a game I couldn't blow
But my offense, they gave me a raw deal
Raw deal

Two weeks ago in Shea
The Padres came here with
Cianfrocco
Pitched my ass off but I lose anyway
'Cause we managed but
One hit that day

I could use a break
Need one in the worst way
But we can't score runs
And I choke leads away
Fourteen months of losin'
Fourteen months of losin'
Whoa-oh-oh

Oh no, oh no!
¡Ele!
That's twenty-seven in a row
¡Un perdedor!
I never met a game I couldn't blow
But my offense, they gave me a raw deal
Raw deal

One win, one win for me please
Just one win, just one win for me please
One win, one win for me please
Murray doubles to right
Thompson scores, Mets win

Oh no, oh no!
¡Ele!
That's twenty-seven in a row
¡Un perdedor!
I never met a game I couldn't blow
But my offense, they gave me a raw deal

Took over a year
One win in over a year
But it's mine
Mine

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!

Good luck, KC!

Not that you'll need it.

Thanks, you too.

Get a room, you two. This is a disgusting PDA.

Cripes, somehow I forgot how Vertigo goes and I had to click on that link!

Nice job, boys

Gimme Shelter's one of my favorite songs ever, but it was a hard choice

Damn, you guys are both digging up sore memories from the mid-90's.

I couldn't choose here. Went with KC, but it... and then it...

I'm having a rough time too. Both are great.

One thing I'll say: Gimmee Shelter is a great song to listen to with headphones. KC wins points for aligning the spare desperation of that song to the subject matter.

Both good.

I dig both songs, both bands.

I flipped a coin. OO won. I owe you one KC.

Both excellent. I went with OO's U2 too.

At this pace, we're looking at a playoff round!

Edgy DC

All tied. Crazy eights.

Parody contest ethics question: Are we allowed to vote in our own matches?

Kong76
Jan 26 2007 05:08 PM

I voted for myself, so if you didn't, please do.

OE: If that was against the unwritten rules, please ignore of one of my votes.

cooby
Jan 26 2007 05:26 PM

"One" of your votes? How many times did you vote?

Kong76
Jan 26 2007 05:33 PM

One from my total, sillooby.

Or, if OO didn't for OO's self, OO could just vote and it would have the same effect.

cooby
Jan 26 2007 05:38 PM

OO OO OO OO OO OO OOh, I see what you mean

OlerudOwned
Jan 26 2007 06:19 PM

Alright, I voted for myself.

KC wins 11-10.

Jan 26 2007 06:39 PM

Good contest, OO ... I woulda mentioned voting for myself if I won by one, it
was bugging me when it was creeping up tied all day and I was relieved when
you asked.

This question should probably go in one of the two or three general parody threads ...

Do you vote for yourself? I mean if everyone does, or everyone doesn't, it doesn't
matter. The problem is, obviously, if one does and one doesn't.

Edgy DC
Jan 26 2007 09:05 PM

I think voting for oneself is perfectly kosher.

Evabody does it.

Edgy DC
Jan 30 2007 06:03 PM

Late votes might've swung this into OO's corner had the voters gotten up earlier.

Kong76
Jan 30 2007 07:31 PM

Dude, pointing out links in round two (that work) and pointing out that OO got
votes in round one (after it was over) while round two is going on?

Are you one of those passive aggressive saboteurs I read about in Wired?

Edgy DC
Jan 30 2007 08:19 PM

No.

I don't think so.

I mean you won. I was just commenting on the close-itude.

My mommy says I'm a winner.
