Sammy Sosa set to sign contract!!!!

Didn't say it was with the[url=http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/17/sports/baseball/17base.html] Mets[/url], did I?

Apparently, it's a toss up whether Maine or Vargas in the lead for the #3 slot (as I literally read this asinine article).

Maine should be #2, el duque has done jack shit to earn it over Maine...not that its really that important, as long as you're not 5th and getting skipped all the time.

Well El Duque did plenty when he was a MFY......ok I'm being sarcastic but the fact that Hernandez is a lock for the rotation and Maine still has to win over Willie is silly IMO....

No, it's not important. But Hernandez has done far more than you've been giving him credit for.

I think we all know that Maine is likely to open the season in the Mets rotation. I think we also know that Randolph likes to make players work for their jobs to keep them motivated.

That kind of talk (who is #2) reminds me of someone (can't remember who) who kept arguing on the old MOFO after the 2000 season that Glendon Rusch was the #2 starter, dammit, not #4 or whatever.
