"Rules? What rules in a knife fight?" (Parody rela

Is there someplace we can get acquainted (or re-acquainted, as the case may be) with the rules for the parody contest, or to discuss or suggest some rules?

For example, I think it would be cool if we could trade subjects--if I had a killer idea for a Felix Millan parody, but you have Felix, I might offer you a choice of any of my entries in exchange (plus possibly a beer). Or we could have a rule that gives you my remaining entries if you defeat me. Or we could discuss the difficulty of setting a cutoff on the timing--basically (AFAICT) when you set up a poll it gives you a choice of how long the poll will stay open but only in integers of days, whereas the current rules (again, AFAICT) specify that the cutoff occurs 24 hours after the SECOND entry goes up, not the first.

Can we have a thread to discuss this stuff? Do we have one already? Or is this it?

I have no idea why the final four characters ["ted)"]s of my title got lopped off. Is there some kind of circumcising machine here?

trading players kinda sullies the point of randomly picking them, no?

you get the players of whom you defeat. dickshot now has tsuyoshi shinjo, cliff floyd, kelly stinnett, and some other guy to add to his own list.

timing it off the first post is unfair to the second guy. the best way is likely to have somebody adminnish post the score at the 24-hr mark as the official score, and then we could just ignore poll count from there onwards.

there might be a rules thread in the parody forum, but there might not be.

You shouldn't have brought a knife to a gunfight.

Elster88 - "You shouldn't have brought a knife to a gunfight."

That's a mistake you generally don't make more than once.

No one gets the cinematic reference?

Where's Vic when you really need him?

It's from Butch & the Kid of course - one of my all-time fave flicks, which, coincidently, is on AMC right NOW!!!! as that channel is apparently doing some sort of Robert Redford fest this weekend.

Butch - All right Harvey, let's get the rules straight first

Harvey - What? There's no rules in a knife fight!'

Butch - OK then, someone say 1-2-3 go!

Someone in crowd - 1-2-3 Go!
(Butch kicks Harvey in groin)

Who are those guys?

The "someone" is Redford, I think.

Hey, I have a rule.
With all the spouses, parents and parents-to-be here (see self-promotion forum) , and with folks with multiple screen names, how about a rule of one vote per household?

I have to slightly disagree and say one vote per individual air breathing person.
There aren't too many multiple personalities any more, and the ones that exitst
are mostly for fun (like grover or someone) and it's obvious who they are and
shouldn't and probably don't.

It's in-ap-PRO-pri-ate for members of the press corps to vote. It injects us into the story we are to cover.

INJECTS!

OK, KC.
One vote per person works for me.
