explosions

Walking home from the gym tonite, hearing explosions, one after another, 20 minutes straight now.. right on the East River edge of greenpoint, or across the river on the East side of Manhattan... Fire trucks diriving around the hood but didnt seem to find anything here. Just me or what?

That's what they were? I thought it was jackhammering or something. I did see some demolition on First Avenue south of the UN today, but I don't think they'd be working this late... Nothing on the Gothamist newsmap. Wishing I had a police/fire scanner right now.

Nothing on the radio either. Explosions seemed to have stopped.

Gothamist seems to report that it was the Con Ed plant at 14th and C letting off steam.

I'm sure if it was anything even remotely suspicious it would covered, disected, torn apart, blame found, a dozen other blames made up, and explained on how it will affect the next ten years of city life on Channel 5. I'm sure Rev. Al would have something to add, as well.

Next time you get around a nasty dirty baby that needs a bath and a new diaper, take a wiff. Maple syrup. Could be why I don't like pancakes. Their sheets smell like that in the morning too after they wet the crib.
