Mets [url=http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070202&content_id=1793191&vkey=news_nym&fext=.jsp&c_id=nym]sign their coaches to multi-year deals[/url] Rick Peterson gets a three year contract, while Guy Conti (bullpen), Rick Downs (hitting), and Jerry Manual (bench) re-up for two years each. Base coaches HoJo & Sandy Alomar will work on one-year deals.

I think that's just great...I'm sure Alomar is year to year on most things in life now...good to see the Mets have a steady coaching staff....and nice to see GM and Coach on the same page on this..or at least I think they are...

Great that Peterson and Downs (whose influence is often overlooked) will be back.
