David Wright hits the links in what don't look like golf shoes.

Rusty Staub shows him how it's done.

I was thinking the cover boy looked a little too much like he'd been following the Staub diet, then quickly realized that's not him in the second shot.

That was my first thought on seeing the second picture,I had to look a few times to make sure it wasn't Wright.

David Wright checks in after a day of doing "some of the things off the field that are privileges you get to do in New York," including extortion, crack, and cutting the heads off of cats.

Paul Lo Duca looks for a shirt to hide his winter weight.

Pedro has manboobs. Why not Aaron?

That's one out-of-shape Fighting Irish in those black sox, unable to keep up with the Ancient Cuban.

Could those hats suck any more?

Feb 17 2007 10:58 PM

No,they are horrible...from what I see so far the O's and yanks have that ear thing...I suoppose all teams have them..

I wonder what Selig and the brain trust of mlb is thinking at times. MLB might as well make the look complete by adding insulated ear flaps and a chin strap to the hats.

Johnny sports the Boston Red Sox uniform for 2008.

Maybe its just that I never really paid much attention to the first weeks of ST like I'm doing now seeing images on the boards, but is it me or has there been more variety in terms of team gear the last few years?

Already in this thread we have 1 hooded sweatshirt, 1 of those hiddeous body armour long sleeve ts, 1 black t, 1 black cut-off t, 1 white T which looks like it may be a personalized one for #16 Paul Lo Duca 1 windbreaker, 2 different shorts

At least Aaron and El Duque don't have any logos on their shirts in that running pic,

Wright's locker appears to be filled with the standard issue ST unis

I'm not quite sure what it says, and frankly not sure if I really should be caring, but its just an observation that seems like there is alot more different variations of the products being used these days than I can recall.

Duaner, my god, what did you do to your hair?

Are we really sure that's not Heilman? I'm curious as to what makes people think it's Pelfrey.

The place I stole it from captioned it as Pelfrey.

Meanwhile...

Ok. (I think they're wrong). Just wondering if there was something unique or distinguishing that I'd missed.

That's Padilla on the left and Oliver Perez second from right. Not sure who's on the far right (Burgos?) or in the back.

I've been out of the country the last week or so and what little snippets of Metsalia I'm getting are from day-old USA Todays and this place. Can one of youse enlighten me as to when and how Robbie Alomar's brother landed at Tradition Field sporting the blue & orange?

Signed a NRI deal a few days before Pitchers & Catchers reported.

Basically to be used ala DiFelice/Stinnett/Marreo Probably won't beat out Castro for the backup job, but will be serviciable down in Naw'leans
