Have you ever noticed this? Attractive young female colleague (let's call her S.) leaves for another job and is replaced with an ugly guy. At the very same moment the former distant 2nd most attractive colleague (let's call her T) becomes MUCH hotter. Like, not even hot before now, HOT.

Yep that has happened to me,and you can be sure new hottie number 1 knows this and is quite pleased with the new status.

Well, you never know when a new assistant might arrive who could change the rankings. The thing about office hotties is they're often young and transitory.

you should definetaly hit on hottie #2 in the hopes that she is yours when she steps up the ladder. on the other hand, there may be a sudden surge of hottie hirings which will suddenly mean you dating the ugliest girl in the office.

Oh. I interpreted that comment to mean "you" as "any of you." I don't hit on my secret office hottie girlfriends, I just admire 'em for ranking where they do.

The more interesting scenario is where Office Hottie #1, who may or may not be hot outside the office, suddenly gets trumped by the new girl, who would be hot in any circumstance.

That's a very exciting scenario. Unfortunately, the opposite just happened around here

It's like "what if Pam left The Office"? Then what? Thank God Jim brought back the cutie from Stamford.
