if you were a betting man (person), and a met pitched a no no this year, who do think it would be?

I'm going with Mr. Glavine (Bobby Jones playoff style)

OO - I had the same thought, but my over/under number on the walks is 12.

Tom Glavine who will pitch 30 no-hitters this season to boost his 30-0 record. He's that good. All Mets fans should be grateful to have Glavine as a Met.

My vote to Oliver too.

After Doc got his for the MFY, I picked Pulsipher to get it done for us. So I'm out of the no-hitter prediction business. Except for this:

It won't happen at Shea. But it will happen within the first two years of CitiField. Which on one hand would be immensely sad in terms of Shea going 0-for-Mets forever, but on another hand would be wonderful because a) we'd have a no-hitter; b) it could conceivably usher in an era of no-hitters (at least the hope thereof); and c) Shea would be remembered a little for its mystical no-hitter curse as opposed to the canard that "nobody will miss it"/"nobody misses it".

No-hitters are random enough for me to be comfortable with the "stigma" of naver having had one. I sorta like the distinction.

Me too. I hope they don't get one.

I envision a team no-hitter. Something like Glavine for 6 innings, followed by Sanchez, Heilman, and Wagner for an inning each.

I know it's rather unusual to lift a pitcher with a no hitter going, but Glavine is getting up in years and will quite likely have run out of steam. He will be lifted for a pinch hitter in a tight ball game.

I'm kinda in the it's ok that the Mets have never had a no hitter,I'd hate for one to happen in say FLA with a few thousand fans watching....in my perfect world it would happen at Shea with Gary calling the game and Ralph in the booth with a packed house on Murph's anniversary.

The thread title got me excited for a moment, and then I remembered the season won't start for another six weeks.

I saw the Mets almost get one in an exhibition game in Toronto once, right before the season. Four or five pitchers got through the eighth, but the guy in the ninth--it might have been Josias Manzanillo--had nothing that day. Even though it wouldn't have counted, it would have been pretty funny if they did it in the Skydome and never at Shea.

Chan Ho Park, naturally.
