The Mets are no rehab clinic, but, among the reasons to root for Lino Urdaneta to see some time with the big club this season, his line as a major leaguer has to be somewhere on the list.

Don't let Lino die with an infinite ERA!

How the hell do you get your ERA down to respectability from inf?

Do what Joe Nuxhall did!

Start by getting an out.

With a first out, his ERA drops (in theory) to 162.00. If he gets a second out, it's 81.00.

If he somehow gets a scoreless inning, then he's down to 54.00. I could retire with dignity and start my post-baseball life with a 54.00 ERA.

Lino, for what it's worth, hasn't allowed a baserunner in two innings this spring, striking out three and notching a save.

why retire with a 54 ERA though? retire now and be the answer to trivia questions.
