My friend and I will be going to the City this week. Does anyone have some good restaurant recommendations in the immediate MSG vicinity?

Thanks.

Generally a terrible place to eat around but I like some of the Korean restaurants along 32nd Street.

That's a start. Thanks :)

There is a place called Charley O's across the street from MSG. Also inside the Biltmore (I think) across from Penn Plaza is Joe O's.

There is a relatively new place on 33rd right by the Garden called Stout which has good food if a pub-type restaurant is suitable.

I agree with Sharpie though. Go get some Korean BBQ.

Han Bat, authentic Korean. 35th between 6th and 7th. Open 24 hours, so you could eat after the event if you really wanted to. Our favorite Korean place that isn't in Flushing.

I also like the Hudson Yards Cafe, 35th and 10th. Being a little farther away from the arena helps with a smaller crowd. Standard American fare.

We wound up at an Irish-American place on 33rd across from the Empire State Building. Nothing special, but decent enough food.

Wish I saw this thread earlier.

My former college roommate / fraternity brother / friend owns and is the chef at The Market Cafe on 9th Avenue between 37th and 38th streets.

I highly reccomend the place. The food is mostly continental but ecclectic and the bartenders really know how to make a drink.

Soupcan - "...the bartenders really know how to make a drink."

No higher praise can be given for a meeting place. That would have convinced me.

A cheap alternative for pre-game food and drinks is Maui Tacos on 5th Avenue between 32nd and 33rd. They have pretty good burritos and a happy hour deal of two beers for $6.

I must disagree on Maui Tacos. They might have cheap beer (I've only had lunch there) but the food is fast food grade food-on-a-tray crap with some novelty sauces.

Ugh! I ate in a Maui Tacos at the airport in Minneapolis about 2 weeks ago and it sucked.
