That picture of Lucky Strike green label brought back memories. I had read they only made them with that label during WW II (slogan "Lucky Strike Green goes to War").
In the mid- 60's, I was in the Army and we were given C-Rations. It was food in a box, and each came with a five pack of cigarettes (you had 'em, so you could "smoke 'em if you got 'em" when the Sarge said you could.)

There it was, on top of the food, a five pack of Lucky Strike Green. They were at least 20 years old. And then we wondered "how old is the food in this package?"
We ate it anyhow.

I hadn't tought of that pack of Lucky Strike Green in years.
Thanks, Mole

I just heard on the news today that the pct of women in NYC who smoke is just now starting to trend down. For years the number of men who smoked out-numbered women but, in recent years, the female side has been the industry's growth demographic. Women wanted to be equal to men so I guess they thought getting their death rates from heart disease and various cancers on a par with those of men was the way to go about it.
