Adding a special Game-related folder

Something I was thinking about in YSG's recent post about the SPotG and how voting was going down due to sometimes the polls were clogging up the main forum. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo, the suggestion I have is set up a folder in the baseball folder for various Game threads. The usual IGT, OOTST, the two polls (Schaefer and Rockin' Doc's Beer poll) and any other thread that has to do with the actual playing of the games, leaving the Baseball forum for the off the field doings. Most forums I've seen have this set up, where there is a main forum, and a "In Game Forum" and I just thought it might work here.

I think it would decrease voting, not increase it. We've seen that before with the rankings discussions. When it took place in the special forum, nobody participated. Once it was moved into the main forum, people started posting their thoughts.

But.....the POTG's, IGTs, etc, are a lot more popular than rankings anyway. Please don't just dismiss this idea. It would unclog the baseball forum, and anybody who wants to participate in those things (POTG's, IGTs) would soon get used to clicking on the separate folder. There have been times when I get all excited to see that there are new posts in the baseball forum only to find it a page of POTG votes.

If it makes a difference in this matter, I seriously doubt that I will continue the POTG Beer Polls this season. It was time consuming and the voter participation for the second half of the season was pretty small. I thank those individuals that supported the POTG Beer Polls with their votes and comments. However, ultimately there were too few members interested in the polls to make them worth continuing forward for another season. Yanct does a wonderful job with the Schaeffer POTG voting and I urge everyone to support his efforts throughout the coming season.

I know that feeling. I got the same thing with the Non Baseball Forum when all that was going on were Ladder challenges.

Yahbut the IGTs and PoTGs are what we're here for. The Ladder challenge was just a silly interlude during the offseason.

I agree. I think those things do belong in the Baseball Forum.
