IGT 7/23/05 - Build a Bear Day With The Dodgers In The House
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 03:33 PM |
Ugly missed catches by Cairo and Beltran give the Dodgers a 3-0 lead after the top of the first :(
OlerudOwned Jul 23 2005 03:45 PM |
Wright forces one up the middle, 3-2
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 03:46 PM |
And 3-2 is the score after one complete inning.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 03:52 PM |
A Jason Phillips ground out (even I could outrun that man!), a strikeout and a caught popout gives Pedro a 1-2-3 top of the second.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:00 PM |
And the Mets have a 1-2-3 second inning as well :(
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:08 PM |
The Dodgers strand a runner at second and fail to score in the third.
OlerudOwned Jul 23 2005 04:12 PM |
Cammy runs out a bunt. 2 fast men on with none out, c'mon Carlos Ivan
TheOldMole Jul 23 2005 04:14 PM |
I think the sac with runners on first and second and nobody out is a good strategic move. And Beltran almost beat it out.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:15 PM |
Small ball ties the game in the bottom of the third.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:17 PM |
And 3-3 is the score after 3.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:26 PM |
Crap! More defensive blunders give the Dodgers a 4-3 lead in the fourth :(
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:36 PM |
4-3 Dodgers is the score after four complete :(
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:41 PM |
Pedro pitches a 1-2-3 fifth.
OlerudOwned Jul 23 2005 04:44 PM |
Pedro beats out the infield hit!
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:44 PM |
Pedro's leadoff single off of the pitcher's leg is overshadowed by Fox's compelling (yawn) in-game interview with Derek Lowe.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:52 PM |
The Mets strand Pedro and Cameron. 4-3 Dodgers after five.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:53 PM |
Crap! Saenz homers to give the Dodgers a 5-3 lead :(
Yancy Street Gang Jul 23 2005 04:57 PM |
I hope this isn't what Pedro's second half will be like.
OlerudOwned Jul 23 2005 04:57 PM |
Meink makes an outstanding tag at first. Or an outstanding close-enough-for-the-ump-to-rule-it-a-tag. I'll take it, though.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 04:59 PM |
A nice play by Minty ends the top of the 6th without further damage.
Frayed Knot Jul 23 2005 05:00 PM |
Except for that Saenz HR (Saenz, Saenz, everywhere there's Saenz) just about every other hit today - for both sides - have been dinky crap.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:01 PM |
Yancy - considering the defense today, it's hard to say that Pedro has pitched badly. He doesn't have his best stuff, but he hasn't pitched as badly as the score would intimate.
Frayed Knot Jul 23 2005 05:02 PM |
Maybe (just maybe mind you) the earlier bunt was OK, but I hate bunting for one run when down by two. We've got 11 outs left, don't start wasting them.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:03 PM |
A ground out by Castro gives the Mets a run. 5-4 Dodgers, two out and empty bases in the bottom of the 6th. Make that 5-4 after six complete.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:04 PM |
Frayed - D-Dad was telling MK the exact same thing just as you were posting that.
OlerudOwned Jul 23 2005 05:05 PM |
I found it funny that the same Steve Lyons who dropped his pants at first base was talking about how he likes to see players keeping their heads in the game (Wright streching the double).
TheOldMole Jul 23 2005 05:10 PM |
Minky earning his pay in the field today.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:10 PM |
5-4 going to the 7th inning stretch.
Frayed Knot Jul 23 2005 05:18 PM |
Swinging the bat = Good
OlerudOwned Jul 23 2005 05:18 PM |
Red hot jose ties it, and is the go ahead on 3rd.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:18 PM |
Reyes triples in Anderson with the tying run! None out, Jose on third!
TheOldMole Jul 23 2005 05:18 PM |
Reyes is hot-hot-hot!
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:19 PM |
Make that one out - Cameron grounded out :(
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:22 PM |
Yes! Beltran's single brings home Reyes and breaks the tie!
TheOldMole Jul 23 2005 05:22 PM |
Beltran gives us the lead!
OlerudOwned Jul 23 2005 05:22 PM |
Ivan splinters a bat, singles to center, and the Mets have the lead
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:29 PM |
Crud. Mr. Wright ends the inning with a double play.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:39 PM |
Bert pitches a scoreless 8th.
Frayed Knot Jul 23 2005 05:50 PM |
These announcers wondering about which pitch Willie's likely to squeeze on haven't watched him too much.
Frayed Knot Jul 23 2005 05:52 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Jul 23 2005 05:53 PM |
Bad read by MintJulip there on yet another dinky infield hit. He got far too late a break.
OlerudOwned Jul 23 2005 05:52 PM |
Reyes hits another one! RBI single and its 7-5
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:52 PM |
After Cairo's poor baserunning forces Minty to run home, where he was a dead duck at the plate, Cairo scores on Reye's single. 7-5 Mets, runners on the corners, 2 out. Cameron at bat.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:53 PM |
7-5 is the score going to the ninth.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:56 PM |
Looper comes in to pitch the 9th.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 05:58 PM |
Bono K's! One out.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 06:00 PM |
Will the announcers please STFU about Looper's blown saves already?!?!?!?!
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 06:00 PM |
Choi strikes out for the second out.
Frayed Knot Jul 23 2005 06:02 PM |
And Loopy's perfect for the save!
Edgy DC Jul 23 2005 06:02 PM |
Whoah.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 23 2005 06:03 PM |
Reyes makes the play for the last out of the game. The Mets Win! The Mets Win!
Johnny Dickshot Jul 23 2005 06:11 PM |
Yay! Team!
ScarletKnight41 Jul 27 2005 11:29 AM |
My brother tells me that he, his wife and two kiddies were at this game, and left after 4 innings.
Centerfield Jul 27 2005 11:39 AM |
Nah. It was he that was adopted.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 27 2005 11:45 AM |
Except that I can actually remember being at the hospital when he was born. My grandfather bought me a milkshake in the hospital cafeteria.
Edgy DC Jul 27 2005 12:47 PM |
The milkshake was a big part of the ruse.
