I think the sac with runners on first and second and nobody out is a good strategic move. And Beltran almost beat it out.

I hope this isn't what Pedro's second half will be like. Has he had too much rest? Or is has he pitched too many innings this season? Or is this just one bad outing, and nothing more?

Except for that Saenz HR (Saenz, Saenz, everywhere there's Saenz) just about every other hit today - for both sides - have been dinky crap. We've been lucky just to get the 3 runs we got - we haven't hit this chump yet. Doesn't look like Mcvz came within a foot of tagging that runner.

Yancy - considering the defense today, it's hard to say that Pedro has pitched badly. He doesn't have his best stuff, but he hasn't pitched as badly as the score would intimate.

Maybe (just maybe mind you) the earlier bunt was OK, but I hate bunting for one run when down by two. We've got 11 outs left, don't start wasting them.

These announcers wondering about which pitch Willie's likely to squeeze on haven't watched him too much. And pulling down his pants on Nat TV wasn't the dumbest thing Lyons ever did on a baseball field. He was w/the BoSox one time and was the tying run on 2nd, 2 outs in the 9th, and Wade Boggs (aka: best singles hitter in the AL) up at bat. So Lyons decides to steal 3rd where he's thrown out to end the game.

Reyes makes the play for the last out of the game. The Mets Win! The Mets Win! If we were still keeping track of such things, this was a Shoulda Lost game. The defensive sloppiness early in this game was inexcusable. WTG to the Mets in shrugging it off and battling back from two deficits to win this one!

Except that I can actually remember being at the hospital when he was born. My grandfather bought me a milkshake in the hospital cafeteria. It's amazing the kind of stuff one remembers out of the blue a gazillion years later.
