]Watching Frannie's Legends, are we?
ScarletKnight41 Jul 25 2005 10:46 PM
And we are underway.
Johnny Dickshot Jul 25 2005 10:50 PM
Eric Byrnes eats worms.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 25 2005 10:52 PM
I was amused at Byrnes catching Cameron's fly, and then holding up one finger to indicate one out.
Only it was the second out.
He's a hustle player, but not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.

ScarletKnight41 Jul 25 2005 10:54 PM

Am I hearing a Let's Go Mets chant in Colorado?
Meanwhile, Atkins gets an RBI double and Colorado takes an early 1-0 lead.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 25 2005 11:14 PM
After 2 complete innings it's 1-0 Colorado.

Do the Rockies use purple at all any more?
soupcan Jul 25 2005 11:16 PM

Only in their mountains...
soupcan Jul 25 2005 11:19 PM

Dogs at the park?
Where do they go doodie?
metirish Jul 25 2005 11:21 PM
It's bring your dog to the ballpark night, Matt Loughlin was interviewing some dog owners just now, as field reporters go Mattie is the best.
Mets need some base runners damn it.
Johnny Dickshot Jul 25 2005 11:21 PM
Sure I don't mind if an emergency starter throws a perfect game against us at Coors Field. Happens all the time.
Edgy DC Jul 25 2005 11:26 PM
I'm not sure I appreciate Mattie going goo-goo with the dogs two batters into the inning, and you could hear him trying to continue when Fran finally took over.
Johnny Dickshot Jul 25 2005 11:30 PM
OK, top of the order coming up, down by 2 and I have to crash soon. Time to start raking.
ScarletKnight41 Jul 25 2005 11:30 PM
The Rockies add another in the third. 2-0 Colorado after three.
metirish Jul 25 2005 11:33 PM
Yeah Mattie got a bit excited with the dogs, but his overall work is impressive I think, this is where the Mets bust out big time..
Edgy DC Jul 25 2005 11:35 PM
Reyes leads off with a stand-up triple.
Yes, I was hoping he'd go for four.
Edgy DC Jul 25 2005 11:35 PM
Double Cammie.
Edgy DC Jul 25 2005 11:41 PM
Crap check-swing call on Cliff.
Chance for a big inning here.
Floyd trips!
Exschmellent!
Edgy DC Jul 25 2005 11:43 PM
Wright plates him with a sacrifice fly.
Outschtanding.
Rockin' Doc Jul 25 2005 11:44 PM
Floyd scores the third run of the inning on Wright sacrifice fly to right.
The Mets sieze the lead 3-2.
Edgy DC Jul 25 2005 11:45 PM
Ground rule double by Piazza. I wanted to see him join the triple club.
Rockin' Doc Jul 25 2005 11:46 PM
Hey Acevedo, perfect game this. The hit parade continues with a double by Piazza.
Edgy DC Jul 25 2005 11:56 PM
Rocks tie it up in their half.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 12:06 AM
'Rado recaptures the lead.
Jose Reyes was just tip-toeing toward the mound as if he was going to do the Timo Perez running bunt.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 12:09 AM
Cameron nearly inside-outs a homer, but foul.
Johnny Dickshot Jul 26 2005 12:11 AM
How about Glavine not put on the leadoff guy this time.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 12:13 AM
Glavine says, "Not this time."
Johnny Dickshot Jul 26 2005 12:15 AM
Good inning, time to hit again.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 12:17 AM
I wonder how many Met fans watching this game are looking at Todd Helton and hoping the Mets drive him off the lot when they leave town.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 12:19 AM
How about Beltran get into this game?
Johnny Dickshot Jul 26 2005 12:22 AM
Yeah, Beltran looks pretty stinky.
Elster88 Jul 26 2005 12:23 AM
Prior to Cammie nearly inside-outing a homer, Reyes beat out a routine grounder to shortstop. The guy can fucking fly, but I'm still waiting for his hamstring to come flying off and be trailing behind him one day.
Something else that was unusual but amusing when I was away from the comp:
The batter camera caught a great shot of a moth flying in front of the catcher and ump, crossing home plate from right to left looking from the mound, and straight into Minky's eye. Slo-mo and everything. That might be on SportsCenter tomorrow.
Johnny Dickshot Jul 26 2005 12:26 AM
Not looking good. I hope to wake up in a better mood.

Wow, I was on the phone for well over an hour and missed a bunch of stuff, including the Bark in The Park interview. Didn't someone else do that this year?
And now, since I am the only one here, I am going to bed.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 12:40 AM
I guess the lesson for us is that Mike DeJean is always a good pitcher for his second team each season.
Elster88 Jul 26 2005 12:41 AM
Santiago getting the call in the seventh. Still 5-3 Mountains.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 12:43 AM
Santiago joins Cairo on the Mets all-capital team.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 12:48 AM
Helton pulls up going from first to third, and he won't be a Met this year.
Ex-Met Desi Relaford and his tiny head come out to pinch-run.
Elster88 Jul 26 2005 12:49 AM
I'm pooped. Curse you rain delay.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 01:11 AM
The Rockies look to Brian Fuentes to close it out.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 01:11 AM
Beltran goes down hacking at bad pitches. One out.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 01:13 AM
Floyd pops out and nobody seems to have a clue what Fuentes is throwing.
Two out.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 01:15 AM
Not Wright. He drives an 0-2 fastball to left and brings Piazza up as the tying run.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 01:17 AM
Wow. Piazza gets a 2-0 inside fastball to drive, but shatters the handle of his bat instead as he flies to left to end the game.
Johnny Dickshot Jul 26 2005 07:13 AM
bleh.

cooby Jul 26 2005 09:10 AM

Bleh is right. And throw a couple of yawns in there too.
Edgy DC Jul 26 2005 09:32 AM
I stayed up for it.
Not a good team, those Rockies. I don't know if the Mets had the travel yawns or what, but I don't expect them to lose a series to this team.

I think Glavine was peeved that the weather gods made him wait around so long to start the game, and his typically smirky self let that get into his head and, as a result, into his arm.
Do you guys remember once, during a rain delay, how we were commenting about Game Day indicating the starting pitcher standing on the mound, waiting to start the game, and we figured that he'd be there Charlie Brown style, up to his ankles in water, waiting to throw that first pitch? Anyway, while watching this suckitude in the sleep deprived state, I was commenting to D-Dad that Glavine was out there in the bullpen, all peeved because of the rain, and I contrasted that to Pedro, who would have been out there doing a splashy dance in the puddles.
At midnight, the concept of Pedro and the splashy dance seemed very amusing to us.

]contrasted that to Pedro, who would have been out there doing a splashy dance in the puddles. |
I need that laughing emoticon. This concept is amusing at 10:00 AM too.

I can't put my finger on it, but for some reason he reminds me of my cousin Leslie, who is a blue-eyed blonde. And a woman.
