Fran Healy on Jose Reyes:
Funny, but I don't remember forgetting that. Today's interesting pregame note, from Mike Cameron. User question: "Who's the funniest player on the team?" Cameron's answer, without hesitating: Ramon Castro.

Gonzo doubles hard, Atkins grounds out hard to move him to third, and Holliday whacks a single hard to left, and it's 1-0 bad guys.

The bottom of the first was fugly, with a missed catch by Piazza and brainlock by Wright where he didn't get the lead runner. But, in the end, the damaged was minimized. 1-0 Rockies after one.

seawolf - MK was looking at your names for the Rockies and he was totally cracking up over it <g>
|
ScarletKnight41 Jul 26 2005 09:33 PM |
Ugly top of the second. Wright singles, but Piazza strikes out when he can't check his swing and then Wright ends the inning by being caught stealing. Ugh!
|
ScarletKnight41 Jul 26 2005 09:51 PM |
Cairo lays down a perfect bunt, steals second, and scores when Reyes legs out a single. Tie game.

3 runs which are unearned - yet earned.
|
ScarletKnight41 Jul 26 2005 10:03 PM |
Darn - I have to re-log in for MK. He wanted to post.
|
MiniKnight Jul 26 2005 10:05 PM |
Who knew that an error could cause three runs?
|
ScarletKnight41 Jul 26 2005 10:18 PM |
The Mets strand two runners and it's still 4-1 in the middle of the third.

Have I mentioned, for some reason, I have resisted putting Ishii on my fantasy team. He is the only Mets regular I don't have, except for Beltran, whom I can't pry away from this person who has him

cooby Jul 26 2005 10:23 PM |
Oh, and in case Sal is reading this, I am in FIRST FUCKING PLACE!!!!
|
willpie Jul 26 2005 10:38 PM |
I hate Ishii.
|
ScarletKnight41 Jul 26 2005 10:39 PM |
D-Dad and I hat Ishii. But I can understand your decision to add the "e". Especially tonight.
|
ScarletKnight41 Jul 26 2005 10:41 PM |
The pitcher's best friend ends the 5th without any further damage.

Out of town, Matt Clement got sconced by a line drive tonight, something Ishii knows a thing or two about.
|
Frayed Knot Jul 26 2005 10:45 PM |
Atkins didn't put enough carbs into that throw.
|
KC Jul 26 2005 10:47 PM |

Did Cameron SO looking three times tonight or was that my nightmare?, I suppose this is what a .500 team does, get four over and lose two...tough start to the road trip.
|
Centerfield Jul 27 2005 10:29 AM |
I think we should stop saying how this team is poised for a run when they come up upon a "soft" spot on their schedule.
