Are they doing that any more? Anyone ever do the Pepsi pavillion thing?

Anyone going?

Thanks.

Yeah the Pepsi picnic area is a go on Wednesday's, Fran must have plugged it a hundred times during last nights game, during one 15 second exchange he said "pepsi picnic area" 4 times.

Have you ever gone?

I got some info here http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/nym/fan_forum/fan_information.jsp#pepsi

but am curious if there's often more than 1000 people w/empty Pepsi cans. I'll be in Flushing in the late afternoon with my daughter, and we'd head out after five-thirty to Shea unless someone tells me that you need to camp out all afternoon with Pepsi crap to have a shot.

I've been a few times, 5:30 should be OK, this time of year with the nice weather the 1000 seats go quickly, and forget it when Pedro is pitching, lucky for you Glavine is going.

Never thought I'd see that sentence, unless you were talking about someone who was taking the "over" bet.

="Bret Sabermetric"]Maybe we'll catch a ball.

With Glavine going, you probably will have a good shot.

(Just kidding, Tommy. Go get 'em tonight!)

edit: I went to see where Glavine ranks in HR allowed. He's only given up 7, which is actually pretty good.

However:
BAA - .323 (105th out of 108 qualifying starters)
OBP - .387 (107th out of 108)
SLG - .445 (87th out of 108)
OPS - .832 (99th out of 108)

Yikes.

Glavine I don't think has much left. Even last week, in a good start against the Braves, the other guys were hitting the ball pretty hard. How often have we seen him get 2 strikes on a guy, only to fail to put him away.

That's no real knock -- that he's had the success he's had this year with the stuff he's got is a credit. I just don't think it's ever going to be real comfortable with him out there.

We got there at 5:30, and we almost made it in.

We were numbers 1004 and 1005. There were about 200 people behind us in line, most of whom just bellied up to the ticket line.

Since we live about six minutes from Shea, we just turned around and went home.

(I assume I'm "Bert"--does that make you "Ernie"?)

I walked by there at about 6:15 and saw a few hundred idiots standing out there and expecting to get in.
