Cliff's Legs

Is he simply a new man? He not only is carrying less weight than he did last year, he seems to have shed some during the season.

On offense, he's running with abandon, kicking into an extra gear on yesterday's triple. Stealing third against the Dodgers right after Reyes got caught going for second.

And with his better play on defense, it's not like he's particluarly fielding more skillfully; he's still a little awkward. He's just an athlete again out there.

I can't recall the last time I saw anybody get his leges back like that after 30. Guys like Reyes recover well enough clearly, but after 30 gravity becomes your enemy and even healthy legs are tired.

I was, of course, advocating his switch to first going into this season.

On edit: yesterday might have been a good time to get him a day off. Then I remembered we don't really have a fourth outfielder. Should have re-added Diaz or Valent for this trip.

And apparently you scared the heck out of him in the process, giving him incentive to run fast again.

Maybe Woody could fill in?

Cliff is just the best this season, he's healthy and certainly enjoying things this season, he even looked graceful on his triple yesterday, they could use Valent at Coors, might be too big for Diaz to be of any use.

Gerald Williams' uselessness is sometimes more useless than others.

The title of this thread reads a little too much like "Tom Seaver and his MOUND."
