Silly, but somehow I'm thinking Louisville Slugger has some sort of doctor/lawyer-type confidentiality obligation to their clients.

If they did, the lawyers would be out in force.

I imagine that there was some kind of arrangement that the company owned the bat specifications in exchange for use of the players' names or free bats or something. I doubt that there's a problem in recreating the bats.
