Anyone know anything about burial plots?

Alright, kind of a bizzaro question. I have a pair of lovely burial plots on top
of a hill under a shade tree that I have absolutely no intention of ever using.

How do you get rid of them? Put an add in the Pennysaver? Sell back to
the cemetary?

Anyone want to buy them?

I'll pass on buying them. I plan to be creamated.

A friend of mine and her husband recently bought burial plots, and she was telling me that the regulations allow you to sell them back to the cemetary at the price you paid if you change your mind about them. I guess that's in order to prevent people from buying them up and re-selling them like regular real estate.

I believe that my parents also sold back some plots on Long Island, and IIRC it wasn't a big deal.

Thanks, I'll call the cemetary tomorrow. I ain't spending an eternity with the
worms ... ain't no way, ain't no how.

I was hoping someone would ask how I got them.

How did you get them?

BTW, two of those Long Island burial plots that my parents resold were supposed to be for me and D-Dad. My parents bought them without consulting us. To this day, I consider that to be the most presumptuous thing that my parents have ever done (what was the big rush? They weren't going anywhere. They couldn't pick up a phone and friggin' ask us first?).

You want to give a story, you have to receive a story ;)

I was going to say I won them in a high stakes poker game and the guy
couldn't pay up. I think you've told me that story before, perhaps we've
spoken about burial plots in the past and I just don't remember.

Makes sense about the buyback thingy, in some areas I imagine burial
space is limited and there would be a potential for all sorts of hanky panky.

That's prolly it. I can't imagine that anyone else you know had someone buy them burial plots on the spur of the moment.

At that time, my parents also bought two plots for my brother, who was single at the time. To which he asked, "One for me and one for a date?"

So, really, how did you get the nice plots?

This just seems such an unlikely topic for a thread, much less one that receives ten replies.

Someone at work told me not to sell, I'll need them the following week with
my freakin' luck. God, I love her.
