Toronto jumps out ahead of Detroit, managing 3 runs off of Bonderman in the first. Washington gets an early start on what promises to be a long season of suckitude by falling behind 1-0 against the Marlins in the first inning. Christian Guzman is hitting 2nd for the Nats. Crazy.

Describe the error please. Slowly and with great detail so I can revel in it.

I heard Arod's on the radio at lunch, now I'm gamecasting, so I have no idea but you can guess who was booed and who wasn't. Jeet's error allowed Iramura to reach 2nd in his first MLB PA. I imagine he made a bad throw on grounder to SS.

In the 4th, Atlanta leads the Phillies 2-0. I am rooting for both teams to lose this game.

It is hard to know who to root against in that game.

With the help of some shoddy defense, TB just jumped on Pavano for 3 more runs and the lead. Freakin' Rays have talent to drool over. Crawford-Baldelli-Young-Dukes is as enticing as Beltran-Milledge-Gomez-Martinez, but they can DH one of them.
|
duan Apr 02 2007 12:47 PM |
meanwhile, Carl Pavano's been yanked in the 5th after giving up 4 runs in total 3 in the 5th. Wiggy K's to the reliever, but Delmon Young knocks in the runner. Making it 5 runs that Pavano gave up.

Adam Dunn with home runs in each of his first two ABs of the season. More exciting Ohio powerballer: Dunn or Hafner?

Speaking of leadoff HRs, the Rockies play at home vs. the DBaggs at 4:05. Matsui in the lineup and hitting 2nd, so set your watches.

Benjamin Grimm Apr 02 2007 01:10 PM |
I had forgotten about that. I hope he does hit a homer. It was pretty cool how he extended his streak to three years with an inside-the-parker.

The Twins are actually in a race with the Braves. If the Braves have the better record mid-season, Tori Hunter becomes a Yankee. If the Twins have the better record, Andruw Jones becomes a Yankee.

If you're getting a DEBUG MODE error thing, don't resubmit the post. Just reload or something, chances are the post went through anyway.

Matsui (batting 2nd btw) walked on 4 pitches in his first AB So I guess he's still got that first 'official AB' thing going for him.

Sheets threw a complete game (2 hits, 1 run) probably a rarity on opening day.

From what I heard he got mixed untill the homer. He also struck out which helped a double steal so he got a "Uh, what should we do because that kind of actually helped us" reaction.

X-man takes Lidge deep (very deep) to tie up the Pitt/Hous game in the 9th, ruining a nice game by Oswalt. Not too many other nice games by the ace and ace-wannabes on opening day.
|
OlerudOwned Apr 02 2007 07:29 PM |
It's a shame Lidge has been so messed up since that Pujols homer, he was untouchable for 2 years. But his goose is cooked. Dan Wheeler, your time is now.

Two injuries to starters on opening day for Washington. Of course, one was to Christian Guzman, so whatever National faithful still exist will probably cheer that one, but Acta has his work to do.
