Cardinals get two runs in the ninth to tie that game up,in extra innings.

There must have been a rain delay in FLA because the game is still in the fifth,Marlins up 2 to 1.

Braves up 4 to nil.

170 members of the Japanese media will be at Fenway to cover this game, local time in Tokyo will be 8:05AM and the whole country will apparently be watching when Ichrio goes to bat against Matzusaka .

It's been eight years since they last faced each other, then an 18 year old Matzusaka struck out Ichrio 3 times.

I think I also read that Johjima has decent career numbers against Matsuzaka.

Ichiro has a small sample size against Matzusaka - for 34 (.235) with one home run, one walk and four strikeouts.

Johjima - 32 for 118 (.271) with 5 homers and 11 runs batted in.

Dice-K: Hello Mr. Suzuki. Having only recently immigrated from Japan, I remain respectful removing both my hat and my glove before shaking hands with you.

Ichiro: What's up Dice-K. I've been in the US for 7 years now. Not only am I going to keep my hat and glove on, I wear my shades on top of my brim. This practice may seem inane to you, but it makes me feel good about my bad-ass self.

Mussina calls the trainer out to the mound mid-inning... and walks down the tunnel.

Looked like maybe a leg or hip thing on the replay.

From Rotoworld:
]Edwin Encarnacion was removed from Tuesday's game because he didn't run out his popup in the first inning.

The lesson, as always, is that you got to have a 30- or 40-homer season under your belt before you decide to stop running out flyballs. Somehow, we don't think Ken Griffey Jr. would have gotten the same treatment from manager Jerry Narron. Still, Encarnacion figures to get the memo and at least jog to first base next time.

Glad he got pulled for it, but rotoworld is right, most managers wouldn't have pulled a more accomplished player.

Most managers don't have the authority, having less of a commitment from the team in terms of dollars and years than players at Griffey's level.

Nationals Win!!!

Beat the Braves 2-0. Atlanta loads the bases in the 9th but can't score.
This was the [u:173296342d]first lead[/u:173296342d] that the Nats held all year as their only previous win had come via a tie-breaking walk-off hit.
