I believe Milledge is still active for tonight's game. If it gets rained out, then I imagine Pelfrey won't join the team until the next time through the rotation.

No word of it. Probably after the game though.

It would have been nice to find Lastings at least one start, Willie. Whatya dubm?
|
Nymr83 Apr 12 2007 05:33 PM |
we're tied.

Wright has got to stop killing every single early rally this team has.
|
Kid Carsey Apr 12 2007 05:39 PM |
He does seem to have a knack early on for letting the air out of the balloon.
|
Kid Carsey Apr 12 2007 05:41 PM |
But his third base play has been all-star.

Rollins on a mission with dinger #2.
|
Johnny Dickshot Apr 12 2007 05:46 PM |
Opening day fans shoulda stuck to cheering for the Mets, not embarrassing the other guys. Braves and Phils have outplayed the Mets so far

Glavine makes up for Easley's poor turn.
|
Kid Carsey Apr 12 2007 06:00 PM |
I'll only say it once this year, but that stupid Volare/ohohhhh thing is too
|
Farmer Ted Apr 12 2007 06:10 PM |
Watching on the Phils comcast with Harry Kalas. Trivia...only Mets player with the last name beginning with U? Easy one. I think Harry's been checking out the UMDB.
|

This version of the Mets is frustrating to watch. They create all kinds of opportunities for themselves but never seem to want to cah in until the defense gives them an opening. Plus, entirely too many complete zero innings for my liking. If this season were a chick I wouldn;'t have tried to pick her up yet.

It's the 9th game of the season. If you're going to liken it to approaching

Two ribbie single for Reyes.

iramets Apr 12 2007 06:37 PM |
There;s some Abbott- and-Costello potential in Damion Easley. The Eunuch, last inning "And Easley scores easily."
|
Kid Carsey Apr 12 2007 06:38 PM |
Rollins gets another AB, doesn't homer.

Hah! What a loser!
|
Benjamin Grimm Apr 12 2007 06:42 PM |
Going into the bottom of the fifth with Beltran, Delgado, Wright. This would be a good inning to score a few runs.
|
Johnny Dickshot Apr 12 2007 06:45 PM |

I'm gonna get hammered at this rate. Help me wingman.
|
Benjamin Grimm Apr 12 2007 06:52 PM |
|
And then again, maybe not. Wright hit by a pitch and steals second, but the Mets don't score.
|
Kid Carsey Apr 12 2007 06:54 PM |
I'll spill half a beer on her, you call me a dick and push me, I back down With the Mets winning 4-3, why does Cy Moyer still look good through five?
|
Benjamin Grimm Apr 12 2007 06:59 PM |
|
Interesting. So that's why Del is getting so many hits today. He might even win the daily title for the first time.

Benjamin Grimm Apr 12 2007 06:59 PM |

Or you can get a drunken fat guy to fall on her and break her back.

There is no "U" in "team." Unless you spell it "teum."
|
Kid Carsey Apr 12 2007 07:12 PM |
Phils afraid to pitch to Reyes with a guy on third with two outs and pitch Phils afraid. Reyes steals second.
|
Kid Carsey Apr 12 2007 07:12 PM |
Lo Duca hit by pitch to load 'em.
|
Kid Carsey Apr 12 2007 07:18 PM |
Beltran K's leaving the bases loaded. Oh those LOB's.
|
Farmer Ted Apr 12 2007 07:22 PM |
Mrs. Ted guessed Uribe but none that I remember. These Phils are annoying. Having no output from Delgado isn't much of a help either.
|

Wright with a 7th inning one out triple ...

Kid Carsey Apr 12 2007 07:33 PM |
Moises with third hit of game knocks him in ...

Elster88 Apr 12 2007 07:58 PM |
Oi. That high fly with a man on in the ninth made my heart skip.
|
Elster88 Apr 12 2007 08:01 PM |
Does Wright think too much when he throws the ball in the ninth? Does Wagner frighten anyone else besides me?

I meant to ask this the other day,is it true that Heilman got booed during the opening day introductions?
|

A bone to pick with the WFAN/Rose/McCarthy tonight... I know that whole telethon thing is for a good cause and all, but you should NOT have one of the sponsors on during a met game if you're going to talk to him as if this were a spring training game and ignore the action on the field, filling in later with "oh by the way Rowand singled", the worst was when i could hear a cheer from the crowd for a good defensive play yet it took at least a full 10 seconds for Rose to tell us what happened. This isn't spring training and it isn't television (i cant see what happening if you don't tell me.)

Good that Glavine is getting some wins early here, if only that it takes the drama out of getting his 10 wins and lessens the chances that #300 will become an issue.
|
Willets Point Apr 12 2007 08:46 PM |
I've got Glavine penciled in for 30 wins easy.
|
Johnny Dickshot Apr 12 2007 09:25 PM |
That was Eddie C and McCarthy. I think Howie's busy with hockey. Mix of good and bad tonight, I was more pessimisstic early than I shoulda been but Glavine really rebounded well. In the end we're where we are so far because the defense has been super and Reyes the best I've ever seen him.

Today was my little girls "sweet 16th". So I spent the evening celebrating however her heart desired. As a result, I was blissfully unaware of the happenings at Shea. I read through this IGT in order to learn the fate of the Mets. Though this was far from our most comprehensive IGT, I enjoyed it nonetheless. What can i say, I'm a sucker for happy endings.
