Here's a pic of a 1980 bb card posted at Cardboardgods.

Shea? Or Spring Training?

I vote Shea.

That looks like the bullpen windows in the background there.

Shea - left field bullpen windows.

Agreed. A lot of card photos in those days were taken in New York and Chicago.

When did Shea go from green to blue, though?

Might be the color fading on the card.

Is that Shea?

Hell, they still take a lot of photos at Shea.

My memory is really going... but was there a time during the pullover era that the Mets only had one jersey? That might explain Allen who looks an awful lot like he's pitching in Cincy, Pittsburgh or Philly in that shot.

On edit, it could easily be Shea on 2nd look.

Looks like they had at least 2 for every year.

And the blue alternate is so much cooler than the black we have now.

I hated that road blue. I also hated that 1987 road lettering--somehow I knew they weren't going to repeat when I saw that.

Middle of the 1980 season. Same on-the-fly renovation that converted the seats from wood to plastic.

That seemingly un-natural grass behind Allen is definitely grass (ergo, not Riverfront, Three Rivers, Vet) because the full infield dirt arc is there.

I'm guessing Al Lang Field.
