Didn't really expect to see Lo Duca.

He'll get his injury, whatever it is, looked at after the season ends.

Just tuned in,Mets up 2 - 0 ,what happened?

Benjamin Grimm

I turned it on at 3-0.

Not a great start for Dontrelle, huh?

No it's not,and now it's 4 - 0 with the bases loaded....2 out.

I don't know if the current Mets have a kangaroo court, but what the hell was
that non-slide into second by Alou? The only thing you can control in a base-
ball game is hustle and grit, and ya gotta make that throw to first as difficult
as possible.

Good call. I'm listening on the radio, so I didn't see it, but ya gotta hustle.

Marlins go quietly in the bottom of the first, as someone used to say.

"Don't ask, Dontrelle" seems to be the policy tonight.

A walk for "Belch, Ron" as Tom McCarthy pronounces it, followed by D-Wright's 25-straight-games single. First and third, two out.

Willis is having a meltdown....8-0

I don't know about Reyes going home on that wild pitch. Do we really need Reyes to be sliding into Willis at the plate with a seven run lead? Thank god he didn't hurt himself.

Haven't you heard? He's Jackie Robinson.

Old fashioned asswhoop.

The Marlins' scoreboard has, in their photo of Green standing in Times Square, Borat in the background giving the thumbs up.

I'm amused.

I don't have the sound on loud, they were talking about it on SNY broadcast.
I don't get the joke, but I haven't seen or know too much about that guy or the
movie.

Seems like they are doing it for all the Mets players...not sure what the connection is....

The two errors in the first killed the Marlins...but it wouldn't have mattered much. Mets were smacking Dontrelle around.

Beltran's shot was a direct line drive, just barely over the scoreboard in left field. We'll get some delayed love for him here...

Jose now has as many doubles as triples (3)--surprised it took him this long to catch up.

Phooey!

With the sound down low and doing some stuff I didn't realize that a no-no
just got broken up ... probably best because I would have typed something
about it and got blamed for the forty some odd years of no no-nos not getting
put to rest.

Isn;t Joe Bordhard responsible for some other crime against Metdom?

I'm thinking he hit a crushing HR for them against us last year? Right?

iramets
Apr 18 2007 07:20 PM

Valentin drives one in, Mets up 9-2

iramets

Chavez pinches for Maine, who gave up 2 hits and 2 runs in 7.

Yes. Definetly. I remember this from talking to the Marlins fans (yes, they do exist...in small numbers) at Spring Training.

Good stuff from Maine tonight. It was great to see one of our starting pitchers lead off the seventh inning...hopefully that trend will continue for him.

Gwreck

Found it. 2-run homer against Glavine in the bottom of the 8th on May 27th last year. Was inconsequential though, Mets won 7-4 (was 7-1 at time of homer).

Not to mention bat in the top of the first too.

Thanks. That Borchard is always making it less of a blowout for them.

Kid Carsey

I'm a little worried about Heilman, it took four pitches in the ninth.

Cubbies tie the Braves at 5 in the 7th as the Mets game ends...and then take the one run lead.

On edit: The Cubs still suck and I hate the Braves. ATL wins vs. CHI bullpen.

I just watched the video highlights of the game on MLB.com. There aere a lot of Marlin fans disguised as red seats when Beltran smoked his home run to left field.

yeah, i'd like to sign up for our starting pitcher batting in the 1st and 7th innings of every game, we'd probably be something like 140-22 on the year.

i was at a Fridays watching it there, as usual the Mets broadcasters started circling the "0" on the scoreboard and dumb stuff like that way too early.
