Dinner with Joe and Valerie

The Wilsons were over for dinner at my brother and sis-in-law's last night. He'd met Joe before, as a result of a cartoon he drew when they were first reported moving to Santa Fe (my suggestion for the gag), but this was the first time meeting Valerie, whom, he says, they found delightful. No state secrets to report, though. The other guest at dinner was a rare book dealer, and the most interesting conversations, he tells me, were about rare books. Nick, the book dealer, was asked what would be his Holy Grail of rare books, and he said it would be a book that has never been seen, so no one even knows for sure it if exists: Neil Cassidy's copy of On The Road.

One of my buddies knows Cassidy's ex-, who was living in Denver last I heard f her. She might have it, propping up a wobbly table.
