Marlins up early after one inning. Perez allows a run in the top, Sanchez escapes trouble after walking 2 in the bottom. 1-0 Fish.

Gotay with an RBI single in the 2nd. Green scores to tie.

I just checked in on this game for the first time. I see that through 2, Perez has walked none and struck out four.

TransMonk
May 02 2007 12:00 PM

Through 3 he now has 6 Ks and 1 BB...and David has an error...high throw.

Edgy DC
May 02 2007 12:07 PM

He's also back in the five-hole and taking strike one.

Two on, two out, and Mr. Kinkaid up.

If this is a contest to see who can leave more runners on base then we're kickin' ass!!

Keith sez Vonnegut was his neighbor in Manhattan. Said he used to see him in the park and chat him up. Called him a huge baseball fan.

Ollie working his own Hocus Pocus. 8 K's through 4.

Bee bah boo.

Tom McCarthy means well but he has a weird way of choosing which words to emphasize. Hard to tell what's happening precisely when it does with him.

Ollie to second on an error

I'm really starting to like watching Perez pitch...my excitement is now starting to outweigh my apprehension.

We temporarily don't suck:
Perez single ... botched pick-off - Reyes double

soupcan
May 02 2007 12:20 PM

Reyes knocks him in 2-1 good guys.

Perez: the double threat.

There'll be no sweeps at home. No sir.

Centerfield

Delgado shoulda bunted.

Willets Point

Scored two, but more importantly, left three on base.

KKKKKKKKK

Frayed Knot
May 02 2007 12:37 PM

10 LOBs thru 4 -- only 2 short of the possible max!

Centerfield
May 02 2007 12:37 PM

4k's in a row. 6 more to Seaver.

Johnny Dickshot

How cool would it be if Oliver Perez were to be really good.

soupcan
May 02 2007 12:40 PM

To the bottom of the 5th.

10 Ks, wow. Wish I was watching this.

soupcan
May 02 2007 12:45 PM

Ollie is 2-2 after a one out single.

soupcan
May 02 2007 12:47 PM

Reyes reaches on Uggla's error. 1st & 2nd one out.

Johnny Dickshot
May 02 2007 12:48 PM

Error = 2 on 1 out, Endy up.

Willets Point
May 02 2007 12:48 PM

Ooh, that one will play on blooper reels for decades to come.

Willets Point

Crazy Marlins -- They're practically GIVING this game away!

Johnny Dickshot
May 02 2007 12:51 PM

ND!

soupcan
May 02 2007 12:53 PM

WP moved the runners up and Endy sniggled 'em in. 5-1.

Willets Point

Much respect for Delgado or no respect for Wright.

Make 'em pay David.

Johnny Dickshot
May 02 2007 12:57 PM

what have they done with him?

Edgy DC
May 02 2007 12:57 PM

And he does.

Notice that he also swung at the first pitch.

soupcan

Wax statue offically returned to Times Square.

6-1 thanks to Mr. Wright.

Frayed Knot

All Wright David!

Frayed Knot

Two more LOBs - as Green makes his first out of the day - but a much better LOBs/Runs ratio this inning.

Willets Point
May 02 2007 01:12 PM

LOB's don't matter much to me if there's lots of scoring beforehand.

Wright gives it back as Howie tells me he should have caught the line drive that he doesn't and allows 2 runs to score.

6-3 good guys, Perez is out of the game with 2 outs in the 6th.

Nymr83
May 02 2007 01:18 PM

Wright gives em back as his error lets 2 runs score :(

Joe Smith gets Jacobs to add to the K total and end the inning.

Willets Point
May 02 2007 01:19 PM

This has been an error-prone game. Can't these guys play on a weekday afternoon?

Johnny Dickshot

Two more (good) LOBs for Joe Smith ... and gets his first AB and will pitch the 7th.

What does that say about Heilman?

soupcan
May 02 2007 01:48 PM

It says he goes to the Marlins with Milledge for Cabrera.

Or to the Astros for Oswalt!

That he pitched two innings last night.

Meanwhile, I don't like this tying run coming to plate every inning or so stuff in a game we should be ahead by a lot more.

soupcan
May 02 2007 01:54 PM

Delgado leads off with a walk, red-hot Wright struts to the plate...

Willets Point
May 02 2007 01:57 PM

And shuffles back with a fly out.

Mets win.

Wagner gives up a harmless single but otherwise does a swell.job.

Centerfield
May 02 2007 02:23 PM

Gamecast is still waiting for the bottom of the 9th. Wonder what's taking so long.

soupcan

Edgy DC
May 02 2007 02:30 PM

Try and sweep my team at home? Uh-uh.

I sitll think that Florida looks like a pretty good team going forward.

Here's to missing Dontrelle Willis

You must have 10 thoughts. No more. No less.

Vic Sage
May 02 2007 03:01 PM

i think each thought should have its own sub-forum.

Rockin' Doc
May 02 2007 06:40 PM

I think at least 3 of the thoughts must pertain to the catcher's superlative play and his irreplaceable value above all others to the team's success.

Willets Point
May 02 2007 07:08 PM

Don't you mean TEAM?
