Reyes singled to left*
Easley flew out to deep center**
Reyes stole second***
Scored on a bouncing single down the LF line by Beltran****

*- Nice AB. Not a great-looking hit, but he really fought for it, spoiiled a couple good pitches, worked it full etc etc

**-Pretty deep.

***-Easily

****-Callaspo dove over it as it went by

Johnny Dickshot
May 04 2007 08:09 PM

Into the hot tub!

I just love humiliating Randy Johnson.

Combined age on that home run: 91 years.

Oldest ever?

Very nice turn by Reyes & Easley.

Maine to me is transforming from a pretty good pitcher to something else entirely. I can't remember the last time a Met pitching youngster did such.

those bastards hid my swimming pool picture with the hot babe!

Can we play more games in Arizona?

Johnny Dickshot
May 04 2007 08:58 PM

Encouraged by the return of Paul LoDuca.

Edgy DC
May 04 2007 09:25 PM

Maine is really in command, isn't he?

Johnny Dickshot
May 04 2007 09:28 PM

Yet another runner sent to his death by Alomar.

(I'd have sent Green too).

Edgy DC
May 04 2007 09:29 PM

He hesitated or stutter-stepped or something coming around third. His heart sure didn't seem into digging for home.

Nymr83
May 04 2007 09:46 PM

ball goes off chavez's glove for a HR, he's hurt!

Frayed Knot
May 04 2007 09:46 PM

That absolutely hit his glove!

Edgy DC
May 04 2007 09:47 PM

Get better, Endy.

Johnny Dickshot
May 04 2007 09:50 PM

Endy looks OK. But you knew we'd pay for not getting Green across the plate.

Edgy DC
May 04 2007 09:50 PM

Hey, Gary Darling, boo!

Hey, you trying to catch a ball with a soda cup, BOO!

Johnny Dickshot
May 04 2007 09:51 PM

Hey you interfering with the play then calling your friends on your cell to ask them to watch you on TV? Yeah, you. YOU SUCK.

Gwreck
May 04 2007 09:52 PM

Not sure it was interference. That stupid kid does suck though. He's ugly too.

Glad to see Endy was determined to keep David Newhan from playing a defensive inning this year.

Edgy DC
May 04 2007 09:52 PM

That feckin' kid may have just Lino-proofed this game.

metsmarathon
May 04 2007 10:04 PM

kid was trying to catch the ball with his popcorn box. it hit the box on the way down. the kid, while technically not committing interference, did prevent endy from cleanly fielding the ball.

oh, i forgot to ask earlier... did they throw franco's home run ball back onto the field? the locals there are stupid like that, and chant for fans lucky enough to catch an enemy home run to return the ball to the playing field.

what's even dumber is that they booed mercilessly a guy who kept an enemy ground rule double. a double! fer chrissakes, what next - foul popups?

im glad new york fans arent that idiotic.

A wannabe Cub fan is an odd thing to be.

Nymr83
May 04 2007 10:06 PM

i like htat they do it in places like Wrigley out of tradition, but theres no reason for a new stadium to start that crap

Wagner commits cardinal sin #1: walking the leadoff man with a 2-run lead

I'm going to have a Wagneurysm.

The guy who got Franco's HR ball (he picked it up out of the hot tub) was jumping around like it was him who hit it.

Johnny Dickshot
May 04 2007 10:07 PM

Phoenix is loaded with Chicagoans like Florida with NYers.

See you guys later.

That last call may have been a subconscious give-back.

metsmarathon
May 04 2007 10:11 PM

i had a guy two rows ahead and four seats to the left of me toss back a padre home run by jose cruz onto the field when i was at the 24 april game. i woudl've much preferred he toss the ball my way.

thankfully, the guy who grabbed the double ball kept it.

Nope. Replay showed it to be not only quite correct but not even all that close.

Edgy DC
May 04 2007 10:37 PM

Good.

Meanwhile, I guess it looks like maybe Newhan starts tomorrow.

Edgy DC

The D-Back announcer was talking about how great the efforts were that had recently been made to rebuild the franchise, but added, "Somehow, somewhere, the development department has to add a class in the minors about how to beat the New York Mets."

I think the Mets should try and move to Arizona and play in that park, not only do the Mets have an amazin record there but they have a good on the road record this season....better than home?
