more importantly, salty is on my NL-only rototeam and is a welcome relief from starting the likes of Bowen and Miller in my 2nd catcher slot

I wasn't even aware of that! I just checked Retrosheet and it happened in April of 2004! Actually, I believe I was hospitalized that day so that may explain why I missed it.

The Reds alwas seemed to have the biggest uni letters --- something like 4 1/2 inches --- and a name like Paul Householder's could seemingly build an arc completely enclosing his number.

Jason Saltalamacchia (at 19 letters) still does not beat William Van Landingham (20 letters) for longest first and last name combo.
