I love that AC/DC's guys were related to the Easybeats/Flash and the Pan guy. Never knew that.

Here's one: The piano intro/background in "Rikki Don't Lose that Number" was ripped off vervbatim from Horace Silver's jazzy classic "Song for My Father." Like most guys I imagine, I knew them in reverse order. Go listen to "song for my father" great tune!

James Taylor is considered one of the top singer-songwriters of the 70s and 802, yet four of his five #1 song were written by others.

Not really obscure: James had two brothers (Livingston and Alex) and a sister (Kate) who recorded albums. Livingston and Kate are still performing these days.

Paul McCartney's brother, Michael, has had a moderately successful career as a musician, including a couple of hit singles in Britain as part of the group the Scaffold. Michael refused to use his connection with his brother as a stepping stone and used the stage name of Mike McGear.

Yeah, like that isn't a Liverpudlian stage name.

Didn't know that the Buggles guy was in Yes until a very important poll told me.

Scott Gorham who went onto form the brilliant twin lead in Thin Lizzy with Brian Robertson only went to London because he thought he was auditioning for Supertramp of which his brother-in-law Bob Siebenberg was drummer, they instead hired a sax player and the rest is history.

Brian Ferry auditioned to be the lead singer of King Crimson. Robert Fripp et al were impressed but thought his style of singing was wrong for their band. Later, they helped his new band, Roxy Music, get a record contract.

Eddie Money is accompanied by his daughter on his new album, which revisits songs his band played while they were in high school.

When Buffalo Springfield finished recording "For What It's Worth", Stephen Stills said that all he needed now was a title. The engineer said, "you already gave me a title, I wrote it down." Apparently, Stills said at the beginning of the session, "let's try this one, for what it's worth." Stills thought, sure, let's leave the title on. Ahmet Ertegun, head of Atlantic Records, hated it as a title and the single originally came out as "For What It's Worth (Hey, What's That Sound?)"

The spine of REM's Reckoning LP reads FILE UNDER WATER

On Document it says FILE UNDER FIRE

The compilation Eponymous sez: FILE UNDER GRAIN

LP copies of Green are printed in such a way that the number 4 appears opaquely at the same spot as the "R" in the words R.E.M. and GREEN.

The next line is actually "everybody look what's going down."

I know. But I took poetic license to form a segue to my post about the upcoming concerts.

MFS62 - "I know. But I took poetic license to form a segue to my post about the upcoming concerts."

Wouldn't it have just been easier to post the concert schedule in the Concert Redux thread?
