Folks were much more accepting when Brady knocked up a couple of women outside of wedlock.

A couple?

Really? I thought it was only one.

He's such a stud. Too bad about the Yankee hat.

Not even close to the unoficial NCAA record for such things.
Its held by a football Hall-of-Famer.
Anybody care to guess the record and who holds it?

It was later confirmed that Gisele Bunneedstoeatsomething was not actually pregnant, but for a while the news was out there that Brady had sired two children. Folks were pretty nonchalant, perhaps even proud of his virility.

I think being the child of beautiful, filthy rich parents would make up for the out-of-wedlock part.

Folks seem much more accepting of that in this day and age anyway. I mean it's been referenced in many different sources that Jose Reyes is living with the mother of his two children (no clue if he made an honest woman out of her yet) yet the only person I've seen make an issue out of it, in terms of respect for Reyes as a person, is a very conservative poster on another Met forum.

And even when its been talked about as an epidemic (see the SI cover story on it in the NBA a few years back) it has been greeted with a "giant who cares" from the mass population.

37% of US kids are born out of wedlock (and it's higher in other countries--like Sweden, where it tops 50%). I wonder what the stats are for children of pro athletes-- I'd bet not far off the first number I quoted.

Without taking a stance (I'm in a very long unmarried cohab, and in no position to judge) siring multiple children with multiple partners is different from the family-without-a-marriage setup.

100% agreed. i'd lose respect for reyes if he had a bunch of kids from different women but its one woman and they're living together and he's doing his job as a father, no need to get caught up on the marriage certificate

And with that said (I can't believe I'm chiming in on celebro gossip), that doesn't appear to be Quinn's sitchyation.

OK, nobody asked, but I'll give you the answer anyhow.

I was told it by someone who played football at the University after this guy left. All American running back Paul Hornung holds what was the "unoficial" record for being named in seven paternity suits while at Notre Dame.
Don't know if it has been broken since then.
In any event, it makes Brady look like a mere beginner.

That's kind of what I was thinking about especially since at the time newspapers were reporting Brady siring multiple children with multiple partners in the same month! The general nonchalance surprised me because there is a strong element of Puritan/Catholic traditional values in the Boston area when it comes to matters of sex.

but he's their beloved sports hero, the ONLY thing he could do to piss them off (short of going to iraq and pledging himself to jihad against america) is root for the yankees.

You know we're talking about Tom Brady and not Brady Quinn, right?

I did at the time of I started typing, but clearly got confused somewhere in there.

I can stupidly opine on skanking oneself about, but clearly not on the issue of which team the skank plays quarterback for.

"Brady," there's a late-breaking first-name.

Brady in a sly attempt to make ammends yesterday...

I still can't believe this crap makes the news. And then that I repeat it.
