Schaefer Mets Player of the Month: APRIL 2007

Congratulations, and a big frosty mug of Schaefer beer, to April's Schaefer Mets Player of the month: JOSÉ REYES.This is the third win for José; he previously won in July of 2005 and August of 2006. Carlos Beltran also had a strong month, and finished second in the overall voting. April's Pitcher of the Month is John Maine. This is the second time that Maine has been the Mets top pitcher. He also won the coveted prize in July of last year. For the first time ever, the Schaefer awards and the National League awards are in perfect alignment: Reyes and Maine were named, respectively, the NL Player and Pitcher of the Month for April. You're lying. Alay Soler was never the pitcher of the month. I don't believe it.

Hard to believe, isn't it? I should also point out that José is the first player ever to be Player of the Month three times.

No I'm just talking about us. I'd nearly lost faith in Schaefer after last year's David Wright scam.

Well they did go through the effort of awarding Schaefer points to all those players on all those other teams in order to conclude that they don't match up to our guys. Nice work Yancy. Just curious, who was the best position player in those months that Tom Glavine won both awards?

September 2005 was Beltran and April 2006 was Delgado.

In my mind Maine and Reyes scooping both the Schaefer awards and the National League awards help validate what I am doing voting here every game.
