Their graphic-heavy series preview got me all excited.

I declare this entire weekend a grand occassion to down Brews.

I wonder how they feel about Jenkins this season, remembering from last year at their board they wanted him gone....

i like how espn lists Mota in the injury report...

Injury Report
MILWAUKEE
· Corey Hart, RF (Day-To-Day)
· Corey Koskie, 3B (15-Day DL)

NEW YORK
· Guillermo Mota, RP (Out)
· Carlos Beltran, CF (Day-To-Day)
· Moises Alou, LF (Day-To-Day)
· Orlando Hernandez, SP (15-Day DL)

Hart should be back this weekend after missing the whole series with Washington, Hernandez is from what i hear getting skipped at least one more time for Sosa.

Isolated thunderstorms for tonight,I'd really like to see the Brewers win their division, kinda like to see long suffering fans have joy for a change, just hope they lose three this weekend.

Plus their fans don't seem to be arrogant wankers like the St.Louis fans ,the self proclaimed " best fans in baseball"....mainly because they all wear red at the games......uggh...can't be easy in between the Cubs and Cards...they are between them, right?

Johnny Dickshot

And if nothing else, it'd be nice if they could win the AL East again.

I unfortunately view most weekends as such. No wonder I can't lose weight.

That got me going to Wikipedia...I didn't know that to avoid any conflict of interest with the Brewers moving to the National League MLB first offered the move to the Kansas City Royals, they turned it down, then the Brewers were offered,if they had turned it down then it would have been offered to the Twins..fascinating

No, they're north of the Cubs, who are north of the Cards. Milwaukee's between Chicago and the north pole.

I'm around, not a lot to say.

The replay on Reyes caught looking shows the ball to be way inside and
kinda low. He never really argues or even gets pissed ... looked at blue like
he was robbed.

Couple of Brewers fans have seemingly registered. If anyone wants to post,

Nice inning but WTF is WIllie thinking giving them the second out? Just to get Easley to 2nd base?

I was at the Cubs-Nationals game @ Wrigley last Saturday where Lou Piniella called the same dumbass play with the same fucktard results. In fact, it was also the pitcher setting up the leadoff guy for the 2nd out.

Perhaps a Yankee geneology thing.

Now Sosa gives up the run we didn't score, and its closer than it ought be already.

5 pitch inning for Suppan in the 6th. That sucks.

Johnny Dickshot
May 11 2007 06:44 PM

If they don't give away their rally in the 4th Soupy may not have even gotten to pitch that 5-pitch inning.

And Sosa's got stick too. Why?

this whole weekend is bad pitching matchups for the Mets, its great to take the opener, if we can get a 2nd game that'll be even better.

Post-game interview, the Eunuch asks Delgado if he thought about last season's final game vs. Suppan when they were smacking him around tonight.

Delgado: "Well, Eddie, I got to be honest, I [u:601a87e32c]was[/u:601a87e32c] thinking about that game tonight."

After the interview, the Eunuch couldn't get over it, marvelling that an athlete actually chose to acknowledge the truth, rather than give him the old "No, Eddie, all I was thinking was tonight's game, we have to win them one game at a time, and I was just trying to help my team win...." BS-O-Ra-Ma. It was like Coleman was saying, "I never woulda done it myself, of course..."

Fun game.

I totally agree about having Sosa bunt being stupid.
It was that much more frustrating after Suppan went 2-0 on him -- two fairly wild pitches -- and then he bunts? Somebody should've given him the take sign, and had him swing away if it got to 2-1. He's got pop -- a sac fly (on a night when the ball was travelling real well -- there was no wind whatsoever) would've scored the run, and he might've gotten a hit too.

Sedate crowd for a Friday. Maybe the threat of rain kept people away.

Frayed Knot
May 12 2007 05:34 AM

The argument FOR bunting w/Sosa there is that it avoids the GiDP and (pretty much) assures that you'll save Reyes a shot - and have it come with 2 in scoring position.

That said, I don't like it either, especially after 2-0 and esp since Sosa's rep is as somewhat of a hitter (at least occasional pop). Let 'im take a hack there and maybe you'll score a run by accident before Reyes even gets to the plate.
