I remember that for a few years, Dick Stuart used to sign his autograph "Dick Stuart 66" in honor of the 66 home runs he hit one year in the minors.

That reminds that of back in the 80's when Christian ballplayers - especially those on the 1986 Astros - boycotted autographing Topps cards as a protest against the series of cards called Garbage Pail Kids that Topps was issuing at the time.

There are definitely more than a handful of guys who put bible verses after their sigs; and there are plenty of guys who add a "HOF '91" designation or something like that. The kookiest new guy is Pat Neshek, the sidewinding Twins reliever, who goes a little overboard:

That almost looks as though he paid a professional autograph designer to design it for him

Tug McGraw added a smiley at the end of his autograph. I also have an autograph of Reggie Jackson on a sketch that I drew of him - he added 44 in the bottom loop of the J. I was told later that he only did that on special items.

Then there's the autographed ball that Vernon Wells signed for some hecklers.

I don't see where Vernon Wells actually signed the baseball. He just printed a long message on the ball and identifies himself only as "your favorite centerfielder". Still, I give him points for creativity and I like him busting on the guy a little.

Funny story from the Bad Guys Won book. Tim Teufel is one of those guys who will add a Biblical reference to his sig, well at a card show he signs for a guy and the guy moves along to IIRC Ed Hearn, and the guy sees the inscription and says something to the effect of "That so-and-so is hitting on my WIFE! He's telling her what room number he's in!" To which Hearn sees the item and explains that its a book in the Bible, Romans, or Rom as it can be abbreviated as.

I remember reading a Sports Illustrated piece that Tony Gwynn added "JD7" (for Jack Daniels Old Number 7) in his early years. Not sure if it's been verified
