Thanks, boys and girls. i was away from the office since thursday, so i'm just seeing this now. The TiTTS swell with pride at this outpouring of mead and good wishes. My cups runneth over... I tried to explain to my 6-year old that being 46 doesn't make me "as old as dirt", but he wasn't buying it. I don't think i do either. My 9-year old, much kinder by nature, patted my arm sympathetically and repeated over and over: 'you're not that old, daddy. really." I think her mother put her up to it. for my b'day, I bought me one of those new turntables that also play tapes and CDs, and can burn your vinyl and tapes to a CD-R. The unit is cool-looking, in a faux-vintage style. And it sounds pretty good. I'm a little disappointed in the sound quality of the burned discs, but the vinyl is not in great shape, so i guess i couldn't have expected to sound any better.
