Mets top starter against an unknown for the Yanks (as Mientkiewicz fans). Over-confidence is always bad, but we can't ask to be in a better position.

That's Volare, and it doesn't belong at Shea but rather Yankee Stadium imho.

It'd sure help if he doesn't let the last four batters in the Yankee lineup --- all having bad years so far --- touch him.

It would help if we start battering the zit-faced yokel opposing Maine.

Rockin' Doc May 20 2007 07:50 PM |
Posada is a free agent this winter. The better his season, the more money he'll cost Steinbrenner. I hope he has a good season, while the Yankees suck. Then his agent extorts an obscene amount of cash from Steinbrenner in the offseason.

Just attempting some humor by referencing an old thread (which must have been on EZBoard because I can't find it). Short story: Mets down by 5 at the Phillies and Cliff Floyd hits a three-run homer. Most of us are like "Yay Mets" but one cranky dude put Floyd on notice for killing the rally.

Doc giving props to BAT OUT OF HELL...!
|
Centerfield May 21 2007 01:18 PM |
Did you guys hear Joe Morgan's ridiculous discussion about Farnsworth's comments regarding Clemens. In Joe's opinion, Farnsworth had every right to say what he said as a member of the team, but since he doesn't know Clemens and has never played with him like some of the other guys, he really shouldn't have said what he said. After all, Joe Torre asked people on the team about it and Farnsworth doesn't matter because he's not a significant member of the team. And Torre through his experience, would never do anything to cause division within a team because he knows everyone matters.
|
metirish May 21 2007 01:21 PM |
Yeah I thought that whole Fransworth thing was BS,Gammons fairly hammeered him for speaking up...wasn't he the one who said Fransworth was not a significant part of the team.
|
Edgy DC May 21 2007 01:32 PM |
He showed up at the end of February while Roger stayed home and watched TV, right?
|
Benjamin Grimm May 21 2007 01:44 PM |

Exactly. I'm more concerned over consecutive ineffective outings by Maine than I am by a failure to finish off a sweep of the Yankees. But I'm not overly concerned about Maine yet either. He's entitled to a down spell, and I'd rather he have it now than in September or October.
