Line-Up Shake-Up time:

Reyes
Green
Beltran
Wright
LoDuca
Delgado
Easley
Gomez
Perez

Benjamin Grimm

It's about time Delgado was dropped in the lineup.

I think he should stay in the 6th position until he proves he should return to cleanup.

Kid Carsey
May 23 2007 03:11 PM

I don't recall this version of the lineup being part of the ST plan.

Johnny Dickshot

I like it!

Willie's degree should be "Doctor of SCIENCE in CHEMSTRY!!!!11" Hoorah!

(insert smilies)

Kid Carsey

Hey! Jose! Let's look like ya wanna get on base instead of joggin' around
them admiring a dinger to start off the game.

Green getting walked on four pitches next AB only cements the point.

Edgy DC
May 23 2007 05:54 PM

Delgado batting 1.000 in the six hole.

Edgy DC
May 23 2007 06:07 PM

Green has pine tar way up high on his bat.

Edgy DC
May 23 2007 06:10 PM

Hi. I'm a rally. Nice to meet you.

Edgy DC
May 23 2007 06:13 PM

Salty can throw.

Looks like he crossed Prado up.

Beltran chases, begs to differ.

Wright can make it a 2-love.

But he doesn't. I'll settle for first blood.

Edgy DC
May 23 2007 06:21 PM

Great catch by Green.

In a later inning, one might have advised him to drop that. But even then, I'm not that one.

Willets Point
May 23 2007 06:25 PM

Shit! Ollie's melting down and Chipper is coming to the plate.

Willets Point
May 23 2007 06:27 PM

By the grace of God, Chipper is out on a line drive, but now the bases are loaded for Die-ass.

Willie out to the mound to say something false and clueless.

Willets Point
May 23 2007 06:29 PM

Bullet dodged.

OlerudOwned
May 23 2007 06:33 PM

This LoDuca fella can hit. How come nobody's thought to put him in the 2-hole?

Kid Carsey
May 23 2007 06:35 PM

Delgado, twofertwo.

OlerudOwned
May 23 2007 06:38 PM

Bases loaded, 0 outs. Big AB for Carlos III, with the pitcher on deck.

(Though that pitcher's been hitting).

Edgy DC
May 23 2007 06:39 PM

Go-go cha-chases.

But we score on an SF anyhow.

Johnny Dickshot
May 23 2007 06:40 PM

Don't like this bunt call!

OlerudOwned
May 23 2007 06:41 PM

Perez could make pouring bran flakes into a melodrama.

Edgy DC
May 23 2007 06:43 PM

Shawn Green, this is the day you become a man.

Johnny Dickshot
May 23 2007 06:44 PM

Stupid bunt call.

OlerudOwned
May 23 2007 06:44 PM

Disappointing.

Maybe another day.

I remember when Wright first came up and started mashing the Braves. I thought, "Here's out Anti-Chipper."

Livin' the dream.

Rockin' Doc
May 23 2007 07:03 PM

I'm just glad that Wright is back on track. Now if only the Mets could get Delgado untracked.

Willets Point
May 23 2007 07:06 PM

Patience, my friend. Delgado will return. Actually, he's not having a bad night.

Rockin' Doc
May 23 2007 07:23 PM

Damn, close bang -bang play at first on a slow bouncer to Wright last inning, but his throw just nipped Renteria at first (I think).

I've been pretty surprised by the Braves announcers handling of close calls the past two nights. On the (above) play at first, the announcer (Skip Carey I believe) didn't hesitate to say that it was a close play, but it appeared that the throw nipped Renteria at first. When they showed it in slow motion, he started the umpire got it right.

Last night on a ground ball that Renteria threw to the secondbaseman who appeared to simply drop the ball in his rush to turn the doubleplay the same announcer stated it looked as if the Braves had gotten a break. He said that the Braves second baseman simply dropped the ball on the catch, rather than on the transfer to throw (which was the determination on the field).

The TBS announcers aren't generally that unbiased. Though they aren't as bad a "homers" as some crews I have heard.

Really? I know Perez has a good stick for a pitcher but...

Willets Point

Shutouts make me happy.

Kid Carsey
May 23 2007 07:39 PM

Perez going into the 7th with one, shut outs make me happier after 9 though.

Willets Point
May 23 2007 07:40 PM

Going into the 7th with a shutout makes me happy, but yes, 9 inning shutouts make me happier.

I barely care who's hitting ... I can't think of a good reason to give the opposition the 2nd out in the inning with 2 guys on.

Edgy DC
May 23 2007 07:54 PM

Well, the argument would be to stay out of the double play while setting up Reyes.

Willets Point
May 23 2007 07:56 PM

I think Villarreal played Saltalamacchia for the Coppa Italia one year.

Rockin' Doc
May 23 2007 07:58 PM

This would be a great time for Reyes to break out of his funk at the plate.

Edgy DC

Strange baseloading.

Villasurreal.

Johnny Dickshot
May 23 2007 08:00 PM

Rockin' Doc

Eh, we can live with it if the pitchers do their job for 2 more innings.

Kid Carsey
May 23 2007 08:02 PM

Reyes has looked like crap since losing the locks.

Willets Point
May 23 2007 08:03 PM

Dear God, with all that Reyes has done this season I think we can live with him being off for a few games. If you want to worry about someone, worry about Maine.

Kid Carsey
May 23 2007 08:06 PM

I ain't worried, I'm saying what I think as the moment happens.

Funny, JD thought the same thing above.

Edgy DC
May 23 2007 08:12 PM

I'm worried about Joe Smith.

Ollie's greatly exceeded my hopes for him going into the season. Rick Peterson (or someone) has done an amazing job getting him back on track.

May 23 2007 08:38 PM

Lets give Peterson props for doing a great job with these guys, cos it sure ain't Dave Racanelli that got Ollie on track.
