Q: When you say "Rickey still wants to play ball, Rickey ain't retired yet" but baseball tells you (you're Rickey, of course) "No, you're retired," are you really retired?

Always good theater though.

it's silly that ricky has been written off for the last 3-4 years, while franco got a 2 year contract.....

What's Ricky's good position?

I would wager that Rickey could play first base and be more productive off the bench than Franco.

I'll take that one.

Well you gotta figure Rickey's an able enough athlete to learn how to play first adequately. I assume he'd be faster than Franco, be able to finagle more walks and be, if not a 'threat' on the bases, then at least give a team more speed once there, no?

It's hard to judge, but I think he could hit as well by walking more, probably with less extra base power. I think he could certainly run better --- twice as well --- but he'd be lost at first, and that's what I'd be betting on.

Time to activate Rickey.

When the rosters expand, could they technically include Rickey or does he have to be in the system?

And what's the point here, guys? Thread's been dead for almost 90 days.

The point is that rosters expand in a few days.
