Fire Metaphors

]I think there's plenty of fire to go around on this club, especially with the memory of the last NLCS likely smoldering in many of them. But I have to admit this is way down my list of concerns right now.

That was in response earlier to Edgy's concerns about the Mets having enough fire come post-season, which I now find ironic since minutes after posting it, there was an actual fire in my building. It was contained to another apartment on another floor, but we all evacuated and did some serious standing around until we got the high sign to re-enter (our apartment is fine and our cats made themselves apparent fairly quickly).

Was thinking, however, that the Mets' "fire" had really moved down my list of current concerns.

And praise be that Armando Benitez isn't an actual fireman.

I meant to say that the Mets needed to be tested in fire.

Do John Maine and Oliver Perez merely seem to be performing well because of the league? Will they or the team not make adjustments until too late?

I'm glad your family and cats are OK.
