My oldest just finished her last concert for eighth grade - next year she starts at the local liberal arts high school...

Nice shot.

Jazz, right? Looks too cool to be rocking.

Thanks. Yes, she's in the state jazz band, but this was during "Rock Around The clock"

That's as much western swing as rock 'n' roll. Good rock choice for a jazz band.

Good shot.

That brought back great memories. One of the first concerts I took my wife to was to see the Ramsey Lewis Trio (their big hit was Take Five) at Lincoln Center.
Thanks,

Cool... I'm jealous of all drummers.

Sweet shirt, too.

Awesome. I wanted to learn drums too. My parents introduced me to a teacher who said I had to learn on some lame ass pad before they let me hit a drum set.

So of course, I never learned.

I think he sensed my resolve was not deep when he asked me why I wanted to play drums.

"Um, I like the beginning of Paradise City. Can you just teach me that?"

my uncle is a jazz drummer.
He's an asshole.
I'm not making any generalizations... just sharing.

I'm jealous of drummers too, largely because I wish our band's drummer was a little more focused back in the day. It was like pulling teeth getting him to practice. I'm actually looking forward to buying MiniWolf a drum set.

I had a friend in college who was involved with the orchestra, various bands, and the music fraternity and he told me this joke:

Q: What do you call someone who hangs out with a lot of musicians?
A: A drummer.

In all seriousness though, I personally love percussion. It's great that Ashley's taken it up and it looks like she's having fun.

Can she do the Animal?

Nice pic! You must be very proud of your talented daughter.

I always wanted to play the drums, too. Goes back to my idolizing Peter Criss as a kid. Since I never learned to play the drums, I guess I compensated by dating several drummers...(who all turned out to be idiots)

My friend Julie is drumming in a band, and she never drummed 'til 34.

But is he a drummer/aspiring animator?

Seriously, I am extremely proud of her - the scary thing is that she's even more talented and shows more passion for her art.
