If you're near a tv, put on the Sawx game ...

Doesn't he already have one?

Julio Lugo owes him a drink or seven if he gets through this.

Nothin' like waiting until the last minute.

I literally turned on the TV in the office seconds before the hit.

Not a big Schilling fan. I chuckled hard when Stewart singled.

Still, eight and two-thirds no hit ball is pretty good for the guy.

So the A's went 0 for their first 27, with no walks, in a nine-inning game that they lose 1-0, but there's no no-hitter. Has that ever happened before?

And if Schilling would have had a perfect game except for Lugo's error, would that have ever happened before?

I entered a bar this evening and saw the last out.

I never get to see no hitters. Or even near no hitters.

On May 26, 1959 Harvey Haddix pitched 12 perfect innings for the Pittsburgh Pirates against the Milwaukee Braves. He lost the perfect game on an error by Pittsburgh third baseman Ron Hoak. The resultant runner then scored when Milwaukee collected their lone hit, a double by Joe Adcock. The resulting run cost Haddix the shutout and the game despite his having pitched one of the finest games in major league baseball history.
