Reyes has Sosa's back.

Rickey Ledee? Ughh.

Reyes makes a nice play diving in the hole. No score after 1.

The HP ump seems to be all over tonight. The Tigers are a bit upset over some strike calls.

David Wright

1-0 Good Guys. Top of 4.

Wright hitting homers to the opposite field is just a beautiful thing to watch. It's art.

Sweet! I'm at work and was walking past the sports department -- which has the game on -- just in time to see Wright's blast.

Pudge has an isolated OBP of...drumroll...

.007

That's astounding.

Gomez is playing some D tonight!

I really, really, really like our starting pitching right now. I had my doubts about Sosa at the beginning of the year, but he has been convincing.

Time to score some runs.

Willie seems determined to use almost anyone, other than LoDuca, in the second spot of the order.

It seems that all of the Mets Kabooms of late are solo shots. What I wouldn't give for a good old 3-run shot.

Hit the ball on the ground, Jose!

Sosa is pitching a great game. Locked in a pitching duel with Durbin.

Delgado just made me so happy!

TransMonk

Delgado continues the solo HR trend.

2-0 Good Guys, Top 7.

TransMonk

Delgado's got the dugout hitting book back out. I think that's a good thing.

Rockin' Doc

Great start to the inning, but it went down the tubes real quickly after Delgado's home run.

Does Hojo share any blame in Wright's baserunning gaffe? I couldn't tell if he was yelling out that the ball had been popped up.

Did Sosa come to us on a plane from New Orleans or a beam of golden light from the heavens?

Johnny Dickshot
Jun 08 2007 06:45 PM

He doesn't make any sense to me at all. He's our best pitcher.

I'm starting to believe that may be exactly the case.

He's at 103 pitches after 7. I'm queasy about the bullpen.

Rockin' Doc

Sosa has been everything that I hope Pelfrey will one day become.

Rockin' Doc
Jun 08 2007 06:49 PM

The Mets really made Durbin work that inning. 4 pitches and he gets 3 outs.

TransMonk

From the Tiger's board:

]Smith, Feliciano, Wagner and Heilman are gonna be tough to score off of. Hopefully Sosa comes back out

I'd hoped the same thing for completely different reasons...Sosa is back out for the 8th.

Big insurance run there. Let's get some more.

leyland got his angry on, arguing that gomez left early.

TransMonk

The umps have blown some calls the Mets way tonight, but I don't believe that was one of them.

bmfc1
Jun 08 2007 07:10 PM

I always think that Leyland is going to be smoking a cigarette.

Edgy DC

Magglio going down like Brother Rey.

Edgy DC
Jun 08 2007 07:18 PM

Carlos going down like Brother Ozzie.

Rockin' Doc
Jun 08 2007 07:19 PM

Carlos Guillen follows Magglio's lead and goes down swinging on three pitches.

TransMonk

Put it in the books. Wags gets the 1-2-3 save. Mets win 3-0!

Edgy DC

First Met win ever in the Motor City.

I hope Sosa is thirsty, because I have a feeling there's alot of Schaefer coming his way.

It's about time we caught a break.

I just watched the game this morning.

Was disappointed that Sosa didn't get to finish the game.

Elster88
Jun 09 2007 09:13 AM

Gomez made two great catches, neither of which Green makes.

Gwreck
Jun 10 2007 12:03 PM

I wasn't disappointed at all about Sosa not finishing the game. He was at over 110 pitches, and having just lost 5 of 6, I was all in favor of Wagner coming in and getting the save.
