I thought The Honeymooners was live TV?

I got A Dog's Life on for backround entertainment doing some stuff and
then there's a clip where Ralph is ranting with an open jacket and the next
clip his jacket is buttoned up from another camera angle?

I've seen this episode (at least) a hundred times and never noticed it.

I think the episodes we used to watch on Channel 11 were recorded as a standard sitcom, like I Love Lucy, but the many other Honeymooners episodes that were "lost" for so many years were live as part of the Jackie Gleason variety show.

That's my understanding, anyway. Could be wrong.

There were the 39 Honeymooners episodes that ran in syndication for many years, and then some "lost" episodes from even earlier that were brought out of mothballs when the nostalgia got high enough that someone figured they could profit from it even though that material wasn't considered good enough to circulate in the first place. Kind of like the way newer Jimi Hendrix albums got released.

Later on (mid-60s or so) was the time for 'The Jackie Gleason Show' which was a live-shot variety show from Miami Beach which used to have 'Honeymooner' skits as part of the larger show - although with a different set of actresses for the wives. Those were very distinguisable from the original series.
